Do you need to submit a new affidavit of support or is this a copy of everything that had been submitted before ?

Its a new form that has to be filled out with evidence as before.

Thank you!

Great news on the ssn!

We are still waiting for our bank cards to  come in the mail it's been over a week and a half..maybe due to thanksgiving. So lesson learned keep some cash aside as it takes time apparently lol.

We have to do the insurance thing too!

And super exciting about setting a date congrats!

We just got back from our second failed attempt to open a bank account. First time they wouldn't open due to not having a SSN, and now they won't open it because they're requiring a second photo ID that's valid in the US -- her Canadian driver's license isn't OK, but the passport is. Because of that, we need to get a DL for the state, and the state has a bunch of requirements as well. In the end I'll have to provide an affidavit she's living with me, but the kicker is her DL will only be valid until the day her K1 Visa expires (so early February.)

I'm wondering how we manage the in-between time from Visa expiry to the provisional green card. It seems like a real no-man's-land when it comes to being a legal resident -- I'm not sure if the NOA for the filing will be enough to get the DL extended. Even the EAD (which the DL documents discuss) won't arrive until after the DL has expired.

The paperwork never seems to end.

I feel for ya with the DL issue cause I am not resident enough. They say I can get a temp after I get my NOA1 for the AOS. We shall see if that holds true. Did you try at US Bank if you have them there. That is who my hubby banks with and I have both a bank account and we have a joint one as well that we opened when I was not even living in the states yet. lol That reminds me now that I have SSN I should go back and put that on oh I guess I should attempt to go to the SSA office this week and change my SSN card to my married name.

Woohoo December 11th. :D Sounds like a great day to me!!! I look forward to seeing pictures.

Soooooo his interview is coming up on December 11th and we're sooo excited that it's finally almost here. Anyone have any interesting/"hard" questions they asked them at the interview? We're trying to prepare for what types of questions are asked. Thanks <3

Nothing "interesting" pretty basic questions to be honest like "have you ever been married" "what company does your fiance work for" "have you met their family" "who travelled more to see each other" "what day did you meet on" "fiances bday" "what do you like best about your fiance" etc super basic questions

Good luck 😊

Ditto Marzena & Stephen, just basic stuff about each other...... Things in each others' past like a previous marriage or visa application; know your own story of how you met, how it developed, where you have met in person and for how long, and any other times you met together in person, when you decided, what do you love about each other, Job titles and types of employment and tasks associated in the job and work hours and workdays.  Remember to not stress out about the interview, you just have to tell your story and you have already lived it :)   They will ask where you will live in the US and if you have ever been there before, and maybe what you know about that part of the US.  I think the CO strives to approve you and even though you don't get all the questions right, you can still get an approval.  The CO asked my F what I do for a living, she replied 'healthcare'.  He asked what did I do in healthcare, she said 'hearts'.  He persisted and said, can you tell me more about what he does with hearts, she says something like 'rhythms and irregularities' then he asked, Well, is it in a hospital or an office? she replied 'office'.  LOL At this point he moved on to other subjects but the point is regardless of our 'practice interviews' and her knowing what I do for a living, she was unable to communicate it to the CO and he just accepted it as normal.  Later he asked how we met and where, and how many times I was there to visit her in her country.  He then asked 'after we met, how did our relationship develop?'  her reply was 'through Skype and WhatsApp' ROFLOL  I made eye contact with the CO at this point and gave a sheepish grin and I'm sure he knew that I too expected a greater response to how we fell in love.  Sooooo,  The Point being this...... Shortly thereafter he concluded the interview, said 'I'm approving you'.  Despite our responses, the bonafides came through for us.

Bestest of luck to you both. Be sure to let us know on Dec 11th! :D

They used to. Both my sister and brother were born in the US and both have plastic ones.

hey, try TD Bank . I opened my bank account when I came here in may to visit my fiance, I was on the tourist visa and they accepted me to open a checking account without any problem, I deposited a certain amount of money and all they asked from me was my passport, they even gave me the debit card on the spot . Later on , when I came here with the K1 I updated my account with the SSN.

Before trying to this bank I was rejected as well by citi and capital one .

I'm not sure

I got an account with first American bank.. still waiting on the cards though..if I were you I would try to go to a different bank and see what they say. My bank took my Canadian license and my passport. And said to come back with ssn within 30 days.

I havnt tried to get my drivers yet.

That is very confusing the inbetween part. Sorry to hear.
