Canada is close enough and yet so far too as I will be 15.5 hours by car from my family. I am having a very emotional day today. One minute I am happy next minute I am crying. I am very very much looking forward to being with my fiance but also very sad to be leaving my family. Family is everything and adding Chris into the family is wonderful. I am gonna miss my Mum something awful even though sometimes she drives me nuts but then what parent doesn't drive their kid nuts. LOL I am also scared about POE. Scared about being turned away because we have received mixed answers on the cat. My sister called the POE we were going through initially although that has changed to another now but they said Pixie needed her Rabies vaccination sheet and a clean bill of health from the vet. Neither of which I have. Yet the US customs and border protections website says cats do not need to have either of those things to be imported except that we will have to adhere to the state we will be in. I already have an appointment set up at a vet in Colorado Springs to get her a vaccination and a checkup. So I called the main line and they said I should be just fine but still I worry about the WHAT IF.....I would never leave my cat and my fiance knows that. I have had Pixie since she was 7 weeks old and she is 12 years old now. I am so scared and so nervous and kinda having mini panic attacks. I have been not letting Chris know so that he doesn't get worried too. We are both big worriers lol.

Anyway POE is tomorrow morning probably around 8am. I already know its going to be, likely, around an hour or more there due to the fact that hardly any of them know how to do k-1s. I prepared my sister and her man that it would take a bit. My sister said ok then that is why we leave early in the morning. We haven't discussed what time we will leave yet. Sometime between 6am-7am though as the POE is an hour from us. My sister is dropping her car off here tonight for me to pack up and have ready to go in the morning. They only live 5 doors down from us lol so will just walk over in the morning along with my niece who gets to stay with grandma overnight so she is super excited. lol

I only have one small load of laundry left to do and then pack that away in my suitcase. Other then my computer and Pixie that is it. My computer I will take apart later tonight after I finish talking to Chris. I won't however pack it until tomorrow morning as I don't want to leave it outside overnight.

Sorry for rambling I tend to do that when I am nervous.

Good luck to all who POE soon and who soon have interviews and those still waiting for NOA2's STAY STRONG!

Yep    So many emotions.   Old saying that goes 'For everything gained, there is something lost'     Every thing has a cost.  I can appreciate the difficulty of the beneficiary's situation.    Here in So Flo we have a million snowbirds that bring every kind of creature with them for the winter.  I can't imagine the border looking twice at the cat.  If you are too worried, follow TwoDs advice but use a double shot of Benadryl and wear the cat around your neck and they will just think it is a mink    Might wanna get some Tylenol for the cats hangover afterwards :D    But seriously, I think the cat will cross easily.

As far as POE for you, Ann just told me her POE was really fun, the officer was joking with her, laughed a lot and welcomed her to the U.S. and told her 'You are going to love it here!'.  In all fairness, Ann prayed for favor in their eyes as she was scared of being turned away LOL   But hey!   Prayer works :)

Have a SAFE drive and enjoy every second of it.  I'm so happy for you!

........

@Yzabelle   Have a GREAT P O E :D

Hellooooo fellow Whiners!

A quick sign of life from the desert. We’re on he way back to Utah, and I’m very happy to be able to post the next wedding photo into our thread!

Last night we said “Yes, I do!” above the lights of Las Vegas, surrounded by family!

And funnywise... our minister was lovely - and German :)

My K-1 journey is really over now; we’ll go back to Virginia on Sunday, and then the next paperwork marathon starts with AOS!

To everyone still on the way: Hang in there, it’s so worth it! :)

Well, hello my dearest March Whiners!

We arrived on the 27th, with some adventures on our way.

To begin with, I got really sick the night before I had to pick up Eric from Kiev, so it was not much fun to spend the last week with a fever, a sore throat and a runny nose, and no chance to lie down, but I managed.

Our POE was JFK, had to wait for about 45 min for our papers to be processed, missed our connecting flight, had to wait for another 4 hours at La Guardia. All in all, it was quite long and boring. We lost one of the bags but it was found and delivered yesterday.

I haven't really slept for many days, so I'm sorry if I don't sound excited enough. In fact I am, in spite of being quite disoriented:)

We do have some POE pics, but they are in Eric's phone, and unlike me he is snoring happily now, so I'll post one later.
