Great! Things coming really close! :D:D
In Germany we say a wedding outfit has to have something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. So you're pretty good with the borrowed shoes, hehe!

Well, I have a sapphire engagement ring for something blue, and something old is always easy to find:D

Quick update... bride-to-be is in Montreal and just finished her medical this very moment! One week to the interview.

We're still trying to figure out how to get her pets into the country.

What does she have for pets? My cat can go across the border with nothing long as she looks healthy but once in Colorado she needs to have a vet examine her in 30 days from arrival. I already called the vet 5 mins from us and their first appointment is free to new clients WOOHOO plus she needs her rabies shot then as well.

They're two guinea pigs. There's no issues customs wise, they're exempt from most of the requirements, but finding an option where we know they can fly in-cabin has been a challenge, and the one direct flight we've checked, and no only can't they fly in-cabin, I guess they can't fly in the hold either because they don't have an animal facility at the destination. We think there may be an option on a Delta flight with a short layover but haven't confirmed it yet. It seems like most don't allow in-cabin animals besides cats and dogs, and when they do, it's limited to a single animal.

We also researched moving her stuff and came to the conclusion it just makes sense for her to pare down to the bare minimum of things and bring them as check baggage. Most other options seemed pretty complicated or expensive. Nothing about this process is easy, is it?

Ditto pajobra.....  Here in South Florida, every Oct/Nov we get the snow birds (mainly from Quebec in this area so I can't talk to them too much - they speak some kinda French) but they show up with dogs, cats, and birds - apparently they just drive them across the border.  Maybe Border Patrol don't speak some kinda French either, who knows but they sure drag their pets around with them - 6 mos in Canada, 6 mos in US like yo yo's

I have a friend in the Midwest who has pet poultry - when she buys and sells, she actually mails them.  Express, airholes in box, cooler temps, etc. but it works.    Can you mail a cat?  I think I'd have him declawed first, cuz whoever opens that box is gonna catch HELL!.  I think I'm rambling here......

Ugh yeah definitely not. Sure hope you guys find a solution. HUGS I am lucky because my sister and hubby offered to drive me halfway so I can take more than I originally was going to if I was flying.

I've had the same problem for shipping my two guinea pigs from Germany. Spent a huge amount of time to email around and find out if there is a way to get them there in the cabin, but no such luck. They're very picky with rodents.

I found 2 pet freights who would have transported them. Gradlyn and "Almost Home Pet Transportation" (You can find and chat with them on fb, VERY lovely ladies!).
The thing was then... transport from Germany would have come up to more than 1000 bucks. My better half was more than willing to pay for it, but I have decided to not do it.
I didn't want to torture my guys :( Imagined how stressed they must be from everything prior and after flying. My vet said they can easily stand flying, but the stress before and after is torturous. And since they've already been 4 years old I decided to try finding a place for them. So through a friend I found a wonderful family to adopt them and give them a good spot for their retirement hehe. No little kids, outdoor area... guinea heaven. It was very painful to leave them, but in the long term it was the right decision.

Now you got me wondering, haha! :)
My outfit is new, I am old, nothing blue so far, and I might need to borrow something haha

But I'll carry a special item with me. My dad has died when I was 3,5 years old, and all I have left from him is his hospital diary, which is locked away since I can't stand seeing it, a couple of pics together when I was little, and his dog tags from German army back in the day.
So I'll carry the tags with me when we get married, for emotional reasons, since my mom said he'd have been so happy and proud! :)

I agree with Olya, if you want one, go check out! I did the same. My compromise thing was bought out of need. I was happy ANYTHING fits, because I'm 5"10 and a 20-22. Bad combo for finding a dress. It was just a nice looking white dress for 160 Euros. But it had no sleeves, and I hate that. So I had to add a little jacket and was hyper uncomfortable. And I kind of wanted something "real" too.
Check on Davids Bridal. They have a lot of stuff in plus sizes, and they have many dresses in clearance, so you could end up with one way less than 500$. And they're suuuuuper friendly and helpful.
Mine came up to 1000 bucks + 500 for veil and hair thing and a belt + 150 for alternations. Waaaaaaaay above the budget, but on the other hand: It's the wedding! :)
And since you don't have to pay a fortune for a big party - go ahead!
Look online at David's.... you'll get big eyes :):)

Thank you! And greetings to SLC - we'll fly in on Monday, then grab the family and convoy to Vegas on Wednesday. :)
We're getting married in the High Roller (biggest giant wheel in the world). It takes 30 minutes for one turn, where we'll have a gondola for us and an officiant who'll do it! :)
The night time package is 1300 for the very basic pack, day time I think 900 and you can bring up to 10 guests. Every additional guest is 25 bucks.

But If that's too expensive, there's so many chapels for much cheaper. If you just google Vegas chapels, you'll find a homepage with most of them listed! From zombie to Star Trek to Elvis to the White Wedding Chapel. Much to look! :)

Yeah that sounds cool I always wanted to go on the high roller.  I am waiting till she gets here and let her see the options. I just want that day to be extra special.  Congrats to you again on finally having your long journey come to a happy ending.

That's why we do that. We want "just" a Vegas wedding, but we wanted to have it unique! I can let you know how it all went. Wedding is next week on Thursday. After that I'll know! :)
The entire organization was really easy, I just emailed back and forth with my sales lady, we ordered by mail, got brought in touch with a wedding coordinator for details. You can tell wishes you have for the officiant to do, you can actually customize pretty much everything. :)

Here's the page I got it all done. Scroll down for the packages! :)
