Hi everyone. How soon should i start calling NVC? Was approved 10/3/17 according to letter I received yesterday?  Trying to understand what to do next where we do not miss anything. Thanks.....hoping she here by Christmas.  Praying!

I would call Tues just after 7am, then every 2 days.

Use this time to get your Fiance busy getting police clearances, certificate of no marriage, printing evidence of continuing relationship, certified birth certificate, etc 's.  Try to have these complete before NVC number is issued so your POE is soonest possible.

:( while i was preparing the papers that i will send to the embassy as packet 3 i discovered that i can not find my passport :( and don't know what to do!!? is making a new passport will affect the process and does that lead to stop it and repeat all from the beginning or should i just extract new passport and continue all the next steps normally and file the Form DS160 using the new passport?

I really hope you find your passport. Finding your passport is the easier way out of this.

If you can not find you passport then:

1) You have to inform the Immigrant Visa Unit at the US Embassy

2) File a Police Report / Sworn Affidavit

3)Get a new Passport

Hi March whiners!!!! Sorry I got lost and abandoned ship. I was busy traveling around the Himalayas and stuffing my face with delicious home-cooked food prepared by my future Mother-in-law and other Indian relatives. I spent 5 weeks there and has an incredible time. We dealt with some frustrating delays (mostly due to procrastination of my fiance...he owns his mistakes LOL), but now things are finally back on track. His interview will be in a few weeks and then hopefully he will be here with me by end of next week! Now I will be busy with work, school, and planning our wedding which will be on Jan. 27th so I have plenty to occupy myself until he gets here. :D

I hope all of you are doing well!! And hope everyone is either with their partners already or very close to being done with the process!

Welcome back!

5 weeks together sounds wonderful:) Good luck with the interview and all the wedding planning!
