NOA2 received today.  My slow up was a divorce issue and convictions. My Congressman's office was essential.  Its 12 days from my interview at his office. Thank you all for sharing your joys and sorrows on VJ.  The last few months were tough but hopefully it's downhill from here. neil

Also in about a week or two start calling the NVC to get your new tracking number and see when they received it etc. (603) 334 - 0700 if you are in the US. Do not know about outside, you can look it up

Call NVC and ask to reach supervisor. Tell him that you've been waiting more than 30 days. That's what we did according to what it written in NOA2 letter.

My fiance called to nvc and the supervisor said that the case is at the embassy, but our status says: at nvc, so i doubt that the case is at the embassy

As @Mattagba said, an estimated is just fine. They know it's hard to plan ahead when they actually tell you not to make plans!

When you call to nvc, how long to your status change on internet? To say ready?

We got approved on September 13th and called NVC two days ago to see if our case number was there! Much to our surprise it was 😊😊😊

 

So yesterday I went ahead and booked my medical test for the 19th of October! 

 

I recieved an email from the medical centre with a list of things to bring with me! It listed that I needed a letter from the NVC confirming my case number.

 

i haven't actually got one of these letters?!!

You need check your status at ceac check visa status.

If your status says: ready that mean you can schedule your interview.

Once your status say ready the embassy send a email to the petitioner with your name and case number, that is the letter you need.

And the confirmation page from ds160 for medical

Check your status, maybe your case hasnt artived to embassy

hello everyone!!

I was wondering.. if after I get the SSN ( it should arrive in a couple of days) , will I be able to get the driver s license? someone told me that the license would expire at the end of the 90 days after my POE    soo.. even if i get it now I won't be able to use it much?!!  I am confused ... is it worth it to get the driver s license before I finish with the AOS or I rather wait until then?  I have my romanian  and UAE driver license plus an International driver license ... what to do what to do?

Wow, been away for a bit and we have a new thread and lots of approvals and even some visas!

 

Just a quick update on us, I think I may have mentioned some of this in the other thread.

 

The Irish police certificate showed up. For the record, it was just about the three weeks they say on the web site -- maybe 2.5 weeks total.

In spite of asking if there was a way to expedite (paying for it or not) those requests just got ignored -- I think they do the certificates the day

you ask, so there's no expedited processing -- so the delay seems mostly to be mail.

 

We're following in Marzena & Stephen's (congrats!) and pajobra's footsteps by 2-3 weeks, medical is 10/18 and interview is 10/25, she opted to spend a week in Montreal

and will have a little vacation with her mother.

 

Today I picked up the paperwork from the lawyer for the interview. All told, it's about 300 pages (includes K1 filing as well as all the other documents needed

at the consulate.) As usual there was a lawyer-related glitch, discovered when I came to sign (don't use lawyers, kids), I spent a couple hours at the county

court's records office to fix that, but it's a relief to have all our paperwork done. We could have scheduled earlier if we'd know for sure when the Irish

police certificate would come, but as it is we know our dates and can finally start planning everything, and I've assumed she'll get her visa and started

scheduling stuff for her in the US.

 

Really looking forward to hearing how long it actually takes the visa to show after the interview for our fellow Canadian filers! Good luck next week pajobra!

When I got my RFE, they no longer emailed. It took just over 2 weeks. Be on the lookout for the mail!
