Thank you!!

I'm a bit worried because we don't have any mutual bills/tax returns yet. My husband wasn't required to file tax returns last year as he's not working (we have a co-sponsor) but we do have plenty of photos together and with other people, as well as some mail addressed to us at the same address to prove we live together. Hopefully that would be enough!

As far as the i485 questions - what kind of questions were they? Like just to confirm your biographical info like name, SSN, etc?

Did they ask your husband any questions at all?

Try to find smith that will show that you spend money together - wether its utilities or traveling or whatever it can be.

As per confirmation of sharing apartment - maybe you have letters that you receive to that address so you can confirm that you live there together.

What I've also remembered is that we gave a mutual bank account with payments. Do you have such?

As per questions - officer just went through the questions listed in i485 (one by one). She just skipped work experience.

There were no questions to my husband at all. Though he helped me with providing all necessary documents and explained what was the documents we gave.

That's it!

Hey everyone! Posted this in another VJ AOS forum but thought id check in here too with the old gang about my experience so far. I-485 interview notice FINALLY came in the mail, thank God! So excited to be getting closer. NOA1 was 01/19.....EAD/AP was approved on 5/31 so yesterday made it about 2 months later. Interview appointment is marked 08/27 so about 1 month from now.

And heads up, both the USCIS sites are still saying "Fingerprint Fee/Received Biometrics Fee"  for me with nothing about the interview but here I am with letter in hand. And FYI, interview letter was mailed out to me Jul 27th it says so it took a weekend to actually get.

Hope everyone is getting along ok in the process!

Congrats on getting your AOS interview letter. :) Ha yeah I old those check your status sites with a grain of salt. Most of the time they are all talk and no display. HAHA I honestly HOPE my interview letter does not come. I am currently in a job where I have 3 months of training and you are NOT ALLOWED to have time off during training. So I would have to reschedule. I guess if it comes to that I will but luckily Denver seems to still be quite behind and I do not expect anything from them til January next year. I am quite happy to be in a slow place. Who woulda thunk it.

Did my I-485 and got approved! My status online got switched to card was ordered. Such a long process but now worries are over. I got my travel document approved earlier in the year but was too scared to use it. I filed for adjustment back in December and got my interview yesterday so about 7 months. I showed up about 25-30 minutes early and got in to the interview within 5 minutes so the process was really quick. Also 7 months is not what the processing time said it would take and my status online did not get updated for them sending my interview letter - so getting the interview letter back in June was actually a complete shock. For those thinking about rescheduling the interview - I wouldn't at all cost - the process has been so long and the wait is forever - don't leave it up to someone else to reschedule - no one really takes your case as serious as you do. My wife had training with her new job and they were understanding and sent her powerpoints before hand and she was able to make it back in time to work despite having missed about two hours of training. Hang in there everyone.

Thanks! I TOTALLY understand. I start training for my new job this coming up Monday but its conducted at their HQ in Indiana so im gone for 2 weeks and then back home for 2 weeks and gone again for another 2. Was hoping the letter didn't come because I didn't want the hassle of having to reschedule. It came anyway buy it worked out for the best because the interview date fell right in the middle of the 2 weeks ill be back in town.

That was lucky for you. :D If my appointment is early enough I might have no problem. I do not work until 1:15pm but we do have to travel an hour to Denver for the interview and an hour back again. But looking at the AOS for Denver it looks like average is still about 13 months to interview which for me is end of January 2019 lol

my appointment was 8:45 in the morning and I arrived a bit earlier - I think all my appointments have been really early so I hope that is the same for you. Also the site says 9 months for me but one of the benefits of doing k1 versus k3 is that it is processed a bit faster so I would think yours would be done way before January 2019. Good luck!

Yeah I did look back at the Denver AOS reviews and lots were early enough morning I could do it if it comes it it. :)

Today is my 5th day of training for my job. So much technical stuff to know and I love it. :) 6 more weeks of training before they graduate us to move to the floor and then 5-12 weeks of that before we graduate to the real work. :) They want to make sure you are ready. Whew and if we have good attendance during all that we get a 3.5% raise. Sounds good to me. lol

Hope everyone is doing well. :) I need to head out to my volunteer job at the library. Yes I am still volunteering even though I am now working full-time. I just couldn't see not doing that anymore. :)

Question for anyone who has traveled with AP-

I will be travelling to mexico in september and i was wondering if anyone else has used their passport with their maiden name on it.. with their AP document that has their married name?

My passport has my maiden name still. I have AP and i was hoping i could just bring my marriage certificate with me. Do i also need to bring my pending I485 document of approval as well? Please only answer if you have been out of the country and back in using a passport with your maiden name. I just dont want someone to assume and than i be stuck lol.  thank you so much!

As far as I know long as you carry your marriage certificate to go with your passport still in your married name you are fine. Least from all the stuff on AP here on VJ. :D I haven't got AP so I have not travelled at all. So I just am speculating from other VJ topics.

I don't think so cause the AP would basically show you have a pending something in the works.

So, when we got our interview date, it was on a day I am scheduled to be out of town for work. We went through the process of requesting a reschedule and found out today that it was approved. That was a big relief since I work for the feds and funds were already obligated for the trip. The reschedule process was relatively easy - just had to provide evidence. Not ideal for our case, but there was no way I could miss this trip. Slight delay and will update with how it goes.

So my husband and I had to make a huge decision in our marriage. My husband and I both work for the same company and no that isn't an issue. My husband loves said company but his position is very very stressful and it was impacting his health and well-being. So we talked about it and since I am on there in a very good position and I make great money that he would put his two weeks in. He will get a part-time job elsewhere to help out. He sent in his official notice today and told me he feels lighter and happier already. This was the best decision for us as a couple and I want him to be happy and healthy. This might affect AOS but I know I qualify to use my income on the supplemental I-864A form if required. Also we do have a couple people that would joint sponsor if needed because they both know that I will be applying to be a citizen as soon as I can. Good news is we likely won't need a second car for a bit so that will help. I make enough to support us both for the time being although it will be tight but we will make it. We always knew eventually I would be the breadwinner for us as a couple, we just didn't know it would be this soon. lol Funny how like throws things at you but only what you can handle and we can handle this. Just means living a bit more frugally which is easy enough to do.

Anyway just wanted to let you all know how things were going with me and my wonderful husband.
