I am not sure I will even get to work. :( I tried to get my SSN changed to my married name using my EAD and I waited 10 days before going in to do so from receipt of card. Its been 5 weeks since I went to the SSA. The employer who I assumed was gonna hire me asked me for a pic of my SSN card because they could not verify me. :( So I sent in the pic of my card with my maiden name and a pic of the letter SSA gave me when I went in for the change. I explained what happened and hoped that things would be alright. I sent them the stuff last Friday and I have yet to hear back from them so hopefully this week. I kinda think I am gonna get told that they can't have me work if I can't be verified. Why is this all so complicated. Why did I even changed my name. I am not sure my husband can survive if I can't work. He has such bad health problems that we need another income. :( Part of me wants to quit and move back to Canada and just apply to have him move there but with his health issues I bet that wouldn't happen either. I love my husband so much and I know we can weather this storm but gosh it seems impossible right now. :(

So unfortunate! SSA can be quite annoying. I wanted to change my card to my married name in early December, and that never happened, they were twiddling their thumbs until my visa expired, and then I had to wait for the EAD and apply again:angry: Without the card in the new name we couldn't even file taxes. Luckily, the second time it didn't take long. If I were you, I would go there again to kick them. Hope you can start working soon!

I am thinking the problem is with USCIS not SSA. Because I can not find myself in the SAVE program and SSA needs to verify my records with them. I don't know, I am ready to just give up entirely and wait until I get my gc next year hopefully. We are doing okish financially. My main problem is I am paying off a bill in Canada still and was relying on getting work so I could continue to pay that off completely. :( But looks as if I will have to ruin my credit in Canada. Oh well. :(  Sad to say this but I wish my inheritance from my grandfather would come in but that likely won't until January 2019. It's not a lot but it would pay off my bill and help me put a down payment on a car now.

Hi everyone!

We received the green cards last week, just 2 days shy of 6 months since applying. Hard to believe that this time last year I was excited about getting NOA2 and looking forward to the interview, and now the whole quest is over, and the new baby is due in three weeks:) Quite a productive year:)

Our thread has become really quiet, but It's been fun to be a part of it. Thanks everyone for your support! Wishing smooth and speedy approvals to those who are still waiting!

Congrats!!!!

Yay congrats. :) I hope we get to see a picture of the baby when he or she comes.

Well I went to SSA today after my dentist appointment to get two fillings and got it all straightened out. He had me wait until he looked for me and found me. Apparently the first guy thought my EAD was a GC and so they could not verify me in the system. SIGH Anyway this guy got it all done gave me a receipt and the company asked me to go to SSA to see if I could fix it and send back verification that I did. So I sent that off to them and they said great we will get this back to the background check agency and then talk to your recruiter. Soooo *crosses fingers* I hope after all that, that they give me a job. LOL

Hi, Olechka!!!!

Great news! Happy you've made it till baby boy delivery!!!!

I remembered this summer months period last year when Marchies started to receive our NOA2 and our thread was so noisy :) Emotions were overwhelming, though I received mine in mid August. :) And now - we are family people! Can't believe in what way we passed!

As for my latest achievements - I've got my driving license permit and state ID! Now scheduling driving test to receive my driving license and searching for a job. In the meantime - slowly continue to prepare for our wedding day which is in the end of October.

I do hope that one day you'll share the picture of big happy family with new member :)

Have a safe and easy delivery!

Thank you! I am happy too that I won't be running around with a newborn doing paperwork or interviews!

Good luck with your driving test! Ugh, that is something I will have to start learning as soon as the baby is here, I can't drive yet...

Aww, wedding preparation must be fun:) Looking forward to your beautiful October pictures too!

Hey! Yes, we had our interview on June 19th in Chicago. Our case was under review for a couple weeks after the interview and now green card in hand 3 weeks after the interview. Hopefully you will be hearing something soon!
