Good day all i am currently in the process of trying to bring my fiance to the USA through a K-1 Visa so that we may get married there and begin our lives together. We have both been living in Brazil for the last 4 years (3 of which we have been in a relationship) she is a Peruvian Doctor and I am a Student finishing a college degree and teach English on the side.

My biggest concerns come from the part of the i-129 and my previous employment of the last 5 years. While my family has money and is more than happy to sponsor her. My personal professional profile does not look good for the last 5 years. How big of a problem will this present for us. While my profile is not too good professionally, her profile is great. Any tips or suggestions on this matter would be greatly appreciated

Thank you,

Drew

You being a student should have no effect on your K1 Visa, as long as you have a family member that is willing to co-sponsor your fiance.  That family member must meet the financial/poverty guidelines as stated in the affidavit of support instructions.

Also be aware, your foreign fiance's finances will have no effect (positive or negative) on the affidavit of support.  Even though your fiance is a doctor in Brazil, the USCIS will only take into consideration fiances of the US citizen sponsor and/or co-sponsors.

Thank you very much for your help, I don't see an area on this petition (i-129) that allows me to describe that someone in my family will be her sponsor. Would this go on the last page about additional information?

Hi there!

The financial information is another form that you will need to fill out closer to the interview. This is the Affidavit of Support (I think it's form I-134---just had to do one myself recently). When I did mine, I sent the form, pay stubs, bank statements, my latest tax return (I also worked abroad and had no W2s, though they asked for them), a letter of employment from my employer, and a letter from my bank.

After you turn in the I-129 and you get your NOA2, the embassy will guide you and your fiancée through these steps.
