My husband petitioned me from prison without issue, so I doubt you’ll have problems. Presumably they run a background check but we never had to submit any police cert or anything like that for him.

 

At the interview, I was asked about his crime, how long he’d been in prison and when he was getting out so be prepared to answer questions about his crimes at the interview.

No need to presume anything.  They run a background check on the petitioner.  The foreign spouse only needs to be prepared to answer any questions about it simply to show they are aware.

Thank u. I will ask him about his offense so I will be prepared during the interview. Only lately that he told me about it. And we haven't talk a lot about it yet.
