Some people can't see the forest for the trees and others simply refuse to acknowledge the obvious. ;)

EXACTLY! Thanks for answering for me :)

Actually, it would be too long to start dredging up the history of everything that's went on. A little research would prove the point I'm making.

Fact: Many Dems were gunning for a war with Iraq long before Bush stepped into office

Fact: John Kerry (yes, yesterday's news) wrote a letter to Pres Clinton saying that if the whole world was against us, we still NEEDED to invade Iraq

Fact: US foreign policy with Iraq changed to 'regime change' in about 1999

Fact: Bush got authority to go to war by like 80% or so from Congress. Not the actual figure, but I can't recall it off the top of my head. But the point is, that without overwhelming Dem support, this war would have never happened.

Fact: Many prominent Dems signed a commendation to the Prez regarding Iraq...I think in 2004

These things are not even the TIP of the iceberg but it's all I have time for right now. The bottom line is...do I think Bush is the best president ever? No I don't. But at the end of the day, the simple fact that those who voted FOR the war have somehow successfully distanced themselves from sharing responsibility for it...well, to me, that says a lot about the intelligence of the American people who believe it. I have the UTMOST respect for those who voted AGAINST the war....to me, they can say whatever they want IE 'i told you so' or whatever anti-war opinion they want to put forth. But the rest of em? They authorized this to happen, and until many American people wake up and realize this fact, I will feel pity for those who regurgitate what lies they're told. Everyone needs to stop laying this solely Bush's feet...cos it's simply not true.

Oh, yet at the same time, he's a complete 'idiot' who can't speak, but he's also smart enough to 'convince the world of a lie'...something which, funnily enough, would have required him to master the skill of time travel.

Research for yourselves! Open your eyes!

The true meaning of responsibility involves more than just admitting a mistake. It also involves trying to minimize the damage any way you can. I don't see that as hypocritical.

lisa, i think for the people so vehemently against bush come from a standpoint of: fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. this guys has seriously burned people. i know thats way simplified, but i just cant see how when someone is sooooo wrong about something as important as a war (which I firmly believe he was) can be trusted so easily going forward.

This would be great news! It would give ####### Cheney a long overdue opportunity to lead this country....Only dreaming though, sigh.....

Vermont has the same chance of seceding from the Union as they do to impeach the president; after all, Bush hasn't had sex with any of the interns and then lied about it-:whistle:

Actually if you take the time to read the article the vote was to impeach BOTH Cheney and Bush.

Why don't you? Starting point for you:

Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi

Then come back and explain to me how the President did not lie to the American people. This lie has cost tens of thousands of lives thus far including more American lives than the 9/11 attack.

Agreed. If he's not a liar then he's grossly incompentent. Or vice versa. Though I suspect a little of both is involved here. Neither is a good trait to have a in a leader - but then I don't think Bush can be fairly described as a "Statesman".

Oh, please.

I still say FOX News is as reliable a news source as any American news source -- in other words, you need to take whatever they say with a grain of salt. This includes CNN and MSNBC. None of the American news channels are unbiased and all are sensational. This is why one cannot simply rely on any one news source for all of their news. I think FOX is fine, but I wouldn't count on it soley; likewise, I also think CNN is okay, but I wouldn't rely on it soley either. There needs to be a balance in the news and one cannot get that by watching only one channel, listening to only one station or reading only one paper.

Geez, get over yourself. It was a joke. I don't need an explanation about news sources, thanks all the same. I'm not that ignorant, even though I do live in Vermont.
