Hello everyone, I hope I will get a correct answer for my question.

My question is,

I lived in UK for 10 months and I came back to my country (Bangladesh) on March 2015 and I didn't go back to UK. On February 2016 I got my UK police certificate. Its already 1.5 years old and I submitted a copy of it to NVC on August 2017 ( still in review at NVC).

Do I need to get an updated police certificate for UK when I will face interview in US embassy in Bangladesh?

Thank you.

Frankly, it's best that you get a fresh new copy. 1.5-year-old certificate is not very current even if you have left the UK back in 2015.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

But in NVC's website its says like this..

Important: Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued. If at the time of your interview the following three items are all true, you must bring a new police certificate to your visa interview:

  • You are more than 16 years old;
  • The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and
  • You still live in the country that issued the certificate.

When you are going through the US immigration process, a more current document is always better, no matter what the instructions say. The instructions might outline above but when you get to the visa interview, the consular officer might think it's outdated and ask you to go get a new one, which would add some time to your visa issuance. But of course, that's just my opinion and I'm the type who likes to be prepared in advance and waste very little time :)

Im sorry, the Syrian consul give me the police certificate proving that i did request for police clearance. It's just a certificate sir not a police clearance or police record.

Sorry to tell you, I can't give you any advice on that. You should search for thread like Syrian police clearance.

Is the police clearance is still valid for US immigration if it is only 4 months old? This is for first time visit to and stay one month in USA and the viva at US ambassy is on 17 January, 2018.

Thank you.

Are you talking about PCC from Bangladesh?. PCC is valid for one year from Issue date
