no update since September 14th (split topic)

My fiancé had her interview on September11 and was approved. They took her existing passport and B-2 visa. The last status update according to the CEAC website was September 14 and says administrative processing now. Should we be concerned? She hasn't received any correspondence regarding the need for additional information or anything. Our wedding is planned for October 14 and I just want her to be here as soon as possible. Any help or insight anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated

That's normal processing to find yourself in AP. You'll switch from AP to Ready and back to AP maybe a couple of times. Then it will change to issue. Then the visa is on it's way. No one can say for sure how long it will take. Most of us here are familiar with USEM in Manila and not China. You need a little patience. Don't buy airline tickets till the visa is in your hands and you have looked it over for spelling errors and or missing information.

My Fiancé was approved on 24 Aug at Guangzhou (no issue and no 221g).  Then on 30 Aug we received a 221G by email (the consulate had lost her divorce papers).

 

We sent papers and on 11 Sep the CEAC site changed to issued.  On 12 Sept received another email that said her Profile on the ustraveldoc site had an error that needed to be corrected before they could issue the Visa.

 

19 Sept ustraveldoc (Citic back) site said her passport had been received from the consulate and was being processed for delivery.

 

Today (22 Sept) the Citic back told my fiancé she should have her passport w/visa on Monday (25 Sept).  I know (or hope) this is not the norm.  I would not recommend making in plans that cannot easily be changed.

 

For us this has been stressful, but, not a big deal; only because we decided early on not to try to rush her departure after she received her visa.

 

I fly to China the first week of Oct and we return to the U.S. together on the 26th.
