When I was doing AOS I did not receive my bio-metric appointment letter due to someone putting the wrong address on it.  I rang a Tier 2 officer who changed it to the correct address and actually got them to fax the appointment to my husbands work.

I would think about lodging a complaint. They have to deal with complaints in a timely and orderly manner. I would also complain to USPS if your mail is going missing.  You need to put your foot down Im afraid and let them know its not acceptable.

Thanks for the feedback - how did you get in touch with a Tier 2 officer? Did you call the 800-375-5283 number and ask for tier 2?  I did file a complaint with USPS - they make it uber easy ...when you don't receive a piece of mail, you can simply click a link to report it missing.

Something is obviously fishy here...

I missed my biometrics appt before and got another appt scheduled the same day... on the phone...and I had the new appt notice in less than a week...

So...the only advice I can give you is to just keep calling and if you live nearby the office just go there...

and every time you call, explain it to them clearly and politely that it was their error that caused all of it

Good luck!!!

Every time we call, they tell us we have to wait 30 days after we filed for a new appointment... and that nothing has been scheduled...

We sent in out AOS/EAD/AP packet on JULY 20 so this is getting RIDICULOUS.

Yes it seems the Tier 2 officer is the only person who can change addresses, it was their mistake so I was automatically transferred to one, who told me my appointment was a couple of days later. I needed the letter for bio-metrics to have them done, so I asked what I was expected to do and they suggested they faxed it over. I would not only make a complaint to the USPS, I would make a complaint to the USCIS.

I did the latter about something regarding an i55i stamp I needed when my Green card was stolen and they refused one.  I was given my stamp and sent a letter and also received a call from the manager of the field office.  They have a policy regarding complaints and they are pretty good at resolving them. I think at the end of the day people get scared of upsetting them, but its a business that collects huge amounts of money that needs to listen to its customers when things aren't right. It's the only way for a business to make changes and become more efficient.

First, thanks so much for your feedback. I called USCIS and after asking was routed to a tier 2 agent (via callback). The agent was able to dig up the biometrics appointment and send me the details. The appointment is actually for this Monday, so I'm really glad you posted when you did ...otherwise we would have missed it.

Quick note to others - USCIS can't email, but they can fax. You an sign up for a free 30 day fax number via efax.com as a workaround.

That is great news!!  I'm glad I could be of help, feedback from fellow vjers is what makes this site invaluable!  I hope they faxed you the details so you have a hard copy, as we know one dept doesn't seem to communicate with another.

Yep - the fax took about an hour to get and is printed out. Completely agree about the site and how important feedback is :)  I'll do my best to pay it forward.

Original poster here. My husband walked in to the local Applicant Service Center Friday morning. The security told him to come back at 1 and they would see if they could fit him in. They did...he came back at 1, saw an officer, and they scheduled and completed his biometrics on the spot. Thanks everyone!

Just wanna share with you guys my story.

I didn't get any NOA mail nor Biometrics mail from USCIS (12th Sept acceptance date). I started calling 25th of Sept to follow up and resend my mails but up to this day I have nothing.

Yesterday I called again worried that I'd miss my biometrics. To my surprise it was yesterday 10am and I was actually talking to an immigration officer tier 2 on the phone that exact time. I was so upset that i missed it.

I couldn't sleep last night so I decided to go to the nearest USCIS Application service center (York, PA) and came in at 9am (It was empty). Went to the security and explained my case, he then passed the printed email letter notification to an officer (the only proof I could show them of my case number) and then the officer printed my biometrics letter from her computer and passed it to me. They took my picture, signature and finger print right on the spot without a question. Took me around 15mins.

Thanks for this thread, I just walk-in and biometrics is done!

I can finally breathe now! Good luck to everyone!

OP here. Update:

My husband finally went to the local field office to try to get biometrics. He went when they opened, and they told him to come back at 1. He killed time at an IHOP, came back, and got his

biometrics done.

He was approved for his combo card on Oct. 18, 2 days short of 3 months past filing. He also just got his notification saying his I-485 is "ready for interview"! I'm not sure how long it takes to be granted an interview but we are excited as our packet was mailed on July 20. Does anyone know if I will have to attend the interview as the citizen spouse?

thank you for the biometrics advice!

Yes, you need to be there for the interview as your spouse's AOS is based on your marriage. You will both be asked questions.

Hello everyone,

I had this problem since August 2017. The post office did not deliver the three receipts (AOS, travel and work applications) claiming my address was incorrect. My address was not written wrong not was there a mistake on my part. I called USCIS many times, made many claims to the post office and USCIS. I waited the 30 more days to receive documents and waiting for the rescheduling of my husband's biometrics. After 4 months of USCIS not delivering my receipts or the biometrics app letter, I noticed that following the official rules was a horrible decision on my part.

So this is what I did to fix this issue:

1. I went online and got an INFOPASS in my local USCIS office (https://my.uscis.gov/appointment)

I had to go every day to this website to find something. So persevere, something will show up at one point.

I found an appointment for within a week and yesterday we went to the USCIS Field Office.

2. I went there with all my husband's documents, from id's to the copies from his applications. Once there we talked to a lady that without any questioning gave me my original biometrics letter app (dated for 8/22/2017) and wrote on it for my husbands biometric to be done that same day, just across the hallway from where we were. Seeing the attitude of the ladies that the biometrics room, it was wise to go right after getting the permit, since they questioned the decision of the other lady by allowing us to get the biometrics that same day.

While waiting in line, I could hear how many people had the same issue we did. It is ridiculous how 'easy' it was just to go to the USCIS field Office and get this solved, instead of calling USCIS and waiting for a letter that might not even come.  From August 22nd to January 2nd  my husband's papers were delayed. But even after so long, we were able to go to the USCIS office, get his biometrics and picture, and now everything goes back into place.

I learned not to rely on USCIS rules, and take matters into my own hands. Calling them as much as I can to make sure they get things done, and doing alternative routes to get information and papers processed. It worked wonderfully when bringing my fiance to the U.S and I see that even inside the U.S I cannot have my guard down.

Best luck to everyone!
