Missed biometrics...what now?

My husband missed his biometrics appointment because someone at the USCIS misread our apartment number on our I-485 and we never got the notice. We called them and got them to change our address but still haven't received anything about updated biometrics. What is the best way to handle this situation? It's been 2 months since we filed and we don't want his application to get forgotten about.

2 months is a long time for something as simple as that

You might have had another appointment and missed it again...

I would suggest that you call them again first thing in the morning

Every time we call, they say the same thing: they have received our case but no appointment. We finally found out we missed our August appointment in early sept. and have been calling weekly but they just say wait to receive something in the mail. It's been frustrating. What's even more frustrating is we quadruple checked our app and this isn't an us mistake, it's a USCIS reading a D as a 0 mistake.

Our only ideas as to why it's taking so long are that they forgot about us or are just really behind from hurricane Harvey (we live in Houston). But we haven't even received our AOS NOA in the mail (just text). We finally got the letter yesterday saying they updated our address.

We just dont know how to get them to give us an appointment and worry we got lost in the shuffle.

Do you live near the local field office?  Maybe make an infopass appointment.

We do. I just clicked to make an appointment and it just says "no appointments available." 😐

You have to check around midnight to early mornings that's when they usually have times available

Something is obviously fishy here...

I missed my biometrics appt before and got another appt scheduled the same day... on the phone...and I had the new appt notice in less than a week...

So...the only advice I can give you is to just keep calling and if you live nearby the office just go there...

and every time you call, explain it to them clearly and politely that it was their error that caused all of it

Good luck!!!

I would also sign up for USPS informed delivery, so if something comes in the mail from USCIS you can see it before it arrives.

Removal of Conditions..  TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Time to reset the tick tock clock again.   Roll my eyes.

 Hoping for some help!

Some background - my wife submitted her I-751 (9/4/9) and we received a 757/NOA 1 year extension shortly thereafter (~9/8/17).  I subscribed to USPS and can see USCIS sent me something on 9/13 - I surmise a biometrics appointment - but the mail is apparently lost (never recieved). For reasons unknown we are also not receiving electronic notices. The WAC number on our 757 notice returns nothing online. We called USCIS and they said the number hasn't been entered and we should call back no sooner than 30 days - only than can they do something.  The thing is most biometric appointments in our area look to be scheduled about 2 weeks out - so if we wait we'll miss the appointment. I'd like to ensure we don't miss a biometrics appointment but no-one at USCIS can tell us about what was sent - it sounds like they don't have access to info until 30 days after a file is created? Not sure what to do now. Any advice? I tried the Infopath route but am getting 'no appointments available', and even if something becomes available I'm worried it will be after the biometrics appointment.

Some additional info. Our processing office is California. We are located in Chicago.

Thanks in advance and good luck to all!

When I was doing AOS I did not receive my bio-metric appointment letter due to someone putting the wrong address on it.  I rang a Tier 2 officer who changed it to the correct address and actually got them to fax the appointment to my husbands work.

I would think about lodging a complaint. They have to deal with complaints in a timely and orderly manner. I would also complain to USPS if your mail is going missing.  You need to put your foot down Im afraid and let them know its not acceptable.

Try to do a walk-in for infopass and explain the situation to the officer. My friend missed her bio-appt and she just took a chance and went in there and asked to get her biometrics done. They let her do it that day, surprisingly
