Looking for a Russian speaker to talk to my friend about tourist visa

My Russian speaking friend wishes to visit the US on a tourist visa from an Eastern European country. She speaks some English but the language barrier is an issue, plus I don't know a lot about the process. I am looking for a Russian speaker who has succeeded in obtaining a tourist visa to the US who might be willing to have a phone conversation with her.

Please send me a PM if you can help.

Nothing wrong with what you want to find for your friend but their application will hinge on the ability to prove strong ties & nothing else.

It would probably be a good idea for her to reach out to the US consulate in her country and ask them questions---this way they can give her all the assistance she needs on how to properly file in her language that she understands.

if she's your friend, why can't you interpret for her?

and besides, if she cannot speak English at all, she will have difficulty here as a tourist.

Thank you for the help. I can interpret for her, but I think it would be nice to find someone who speaks her language who has been through the process.

By this you mean strong ties to her home country, correct? She owns her own apartment, has a good career there (same firm for seven years) and has a mother, father, brother, niece, etc. there. Is this the sort of thing you are talking about?

I have heard that if she mentions that she has any sort of romantic or potentially romantic relationship with a US resident that this could complicate her visa approval. Is this true? Is this a question she is asked when filling out form DS 160 or will she be asked this during the interview?

She has to prove she must return by indicating strong ties to her country. Apartments & jobs are easy to replace. Its done by illegals here every day. I know from experience that it can be nearly impossible to prove these ties.

She will be asked why she wants to travel to the USA.

She does own an apartment. She is not renting. Does that make a difference?

What ties are stronger than owning real estate and having a career for 7 years? I really think you have valuable information but if you are cryptic and curt about it, it doesn't help me.

Varies from one individual to another, spouse, children are obvious ones but there is no magic list and nothing most people can do, well not in the short term, her situation is what it is. Apply and find out.

Real estate can be sold at any time. Jobs start & stop every day. Many people immigrate illegally that have left jobs & houses behind so these things may not be accepted as strong ties.

The best thing to do is apply with the knowledge that every case is truly unique.

She had her interview and her visa was rejected:(

Do you think this will have a bearing on a K1 visa should she meet someone in the US she wants to marry?

The mere fact that her B2 visa was denied should no effect on an immigrant visa.  Immigrant visas hinge on the relationship between the US citizen/resident.  Ties to home country are not considered.

Assuming she was denied due to immigrant intent (under 214b of the INA), which is the most likely cause, then it won't have any negative impact on her K-1 visa application. It must be disclosed on the DS-160 and if asked, but it's not a cause for denial.
