My Wife just had her visa interview september 15th and was approved and now i want to know if i should buy her ticket even though we don't have her visa yet. We both want to leave October 3rd and i want to book because there's only 6 seats left on the first flight. After the interview we paid for the most expensive shipping to get it the fastest. Should i book now because we have about two weeks left till i leave or should i wait?

You should have your visa in hand before buying the ticket. 

 

However If you are willing to take the risk then book it. Technically she should have visa within a week, but you never know.

I know you have read the stories regarding this issue.......buy refundable tickets or wait imo.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

If she was approved, there could still be snags as in long AP. Probably not,  but it's a risk. Once it is issued you have cleared that hurdle but there might still be problems surrounding the delivery and there might be errors on the visa that will need correcting b4 travel. The risks are not great but these things do happen regularly. The loss would be quite big - to win a few bucks. I agree with that you should wait but it is ultimately your decision to make.
