I am just getting my I-130 started and came across number 38. Have you obtained a Certificate of Naturalization or a Certificate of Citizenship. I am a US citizen and from my research my birth certificate is my certificate of citizenship. Do I mark "Yes" on the papers and then it asks for a certificate number, where do I find this on my birth certificate?

The birth certificate isn't the same as a "Certificate of Citizenship." If you were born in the US, you don't need a Certificate of Citizenship, as a birth certificate issued by any of the states of the US is proof of US citizenship. And if you were born outside the US, your parents registered the birth with the Embassy, and the Department of State issued the birth cert, then you also don't need the Certificate of Citizenship.

But if neither of those is true, then you'll likely have to apply for it.

If you were born in the US, you leave that part blank or put N/A where it asks for the certificate number, since you would have answered the previous question "birth in the United States".

Aug 17, 2017 (Day 33) - Interview Appointment Letter PDF posted online---GOT AN INTERVIEW DATE!!!

Aug 21, 2017 (Day 37) - Interview Appointment Letter received in the mail, appointment for 09/27/17
