Scientific consensus alone doesn't make a theory true. There has been scientific consensus many times throughout history that has later been proven wrong. Scientific consensus can even align with backward religious views like the consensus that the Earth was flat and was the center of the universe.

  Personally I do use the term anthropomorphic. I was just clarifying for you, that is still what they are referring to with the term "climate change denier".

 

  I think it's understood that climate change over geological time is a fact. No one is denying that. Anthropomorphic climate change is a hypothesis with broad agreement among the scientific community, and abundant empirical evidence, however it would not yet fit the definition of a fact, and some (the deniers) still disagree.

    If you actually read history, it was never widely believed that the earth was flat. If you're ever on a ship yourself, it's quite obvious when you watch the horizon that it curves. Sailors have known this since the earliest days. The only people who believed the earth was flat were the uniformed and the superstitious. There is a parallel to the debate on global warming for sure, but not the way you presented it.

 

  I agree though, scientific consensus does not make a theory true. However, given two choices, I will take a consensus based on observation of  historical data, measurements of current data, and use of the best empirical evidence we have over the alternative. Especially when the alternative at the current time seems to be comprised mainly of a group of loosely coherent ideas interspersed with insults and the occasional meme.

You throw out these cult claims and never offer any alternative science. Isn't your belief that CO2 is not affect the climate and the ocean a belief and not a fact?

Or are we still denying that co2 emmisions are even occurring?

Science does not do things by consensus.  I for one never remembered being polled regarding any scientific discorvery.

There are several factors but yes co2 is required. What are you getting at?

Its a consensus of scientific peer reviewed research not a Gallup poll.
