All is going well with her visa application. We've got everything is place and hopefully we'll have the interview in the next week or so. I was wondering if anyone knows if I'm aloud to accompany her to the interview?

Also any tips would be greatly appreciated. We've been going over the paper work numerous times and we're 99.9% sure its correct!!!

Thanks in advance for your help..

if i could go i would.

I agree here. I am going to my husbands in the next 2 weeks. It is recomended for Jamaica because it is a high fraud country. All the best on your decision

Money is not a factor to me. I have been waiting a decade to bring my man home and this is the most important days of our lives. Then him being here with me priceless.

YES YOU MAY ATTEND THE INTERVIEW AND...... I DEFINATELY RECOMMEND IT.

Here was my experience at the embassy in Lima Peru. I knew my fiance had the interview, but I wasn't aware that I could attend. However, I knew she was very concerned about the interview and I elected at the last moment to fly down for the interview to be there for moral support and to assist if other information was required. I imaged that I would need to wait outside, but as a US citizen I was permitted in the Embassy. We waited with the others in a waiting area for about 3 hours. Other applicants for visas were being interviewed and it appeared their interviews lasted about 20 minutes or more. When it was my fiance's turn to go to the window, she and her daughter went up and began the interview. I followed a few moments later. When I appeared with a stack of papers, the interviewer realized I was there also. She asked for my passport to verify my identity. After that it was just a few simple questions, a word with her daughter, questions about the photos and other evidence and her family and it was approved. The interview was maybe five minutes. When we turned around to leave, everyone waiting looked astonished we were through so fast.

SO YES, GO TO THE INTERVIEW.....YOUR MORAL SUPPORT WILL PLEASE YOUR FIANCE AND YOUR PRESENCE WILL SOLIDIFY YOUR CASE. Yes, the plane ticket was expensive and I was only there 36 hours, but it was well worth it. Besides, it is more time with your loved one.

Also, while you are dating your fiance, before you plan to apply for the fiance visa, maybe you should take some short trips together to another country. You will have time to learn about each other and the "stamps" will look good on her passport. The embassy likes the fact that prospective visa holders travel and return to their native country.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

I totally agree. It's always a nervous time for the fiance and it helps to be there just for moral support. Our interview went smoothly too with just a few basic questions to both of us - only a couple to me I think. Some of the other K-1's we saw going in alone were really nervous, took longer, or were just lost and confused. It helped calm my fiance down when I was with her.
