Hey everyone. Well after waiting for a year and a few weeks I finally got a response from USCIS  and it was for a rfe. I haven't received it in the mail yet so I don't know what is the reason or what is additional evidence they're requesting. I just receive a general email saying that on September 15th which was yesterday that they mailed me in rfe. In the coming days I'll receive that in the mail I guess I'm very worried and nervous and anxious. I have no idea why I would get one. I'm a US citizen my spouse is in Pakistan. We have two kids together.

My question is to those people who have received an rfe. After you have submitted your rfe how much time do they usually reply to you by.

And are there any positive outlooks on getting an rfe I'm very worried.  A RFE doesn't mean no..right? Thanks

That must be sooooo frustrating for you.  Esp after all this time. A RFE is just what it stands for.  A request for evidence. You send in the evidence they continue processing your application.  It's def not a no.  Let us know what for when you get it!

Wow, firts of all, it´s so sad to me ear that you got a RFE instead of the NOA2!!!

Well, first, try to think about anything that you forget, a transaltion anything, just for save some time and have it ready...

Well a RFE delays the process about 30-60 days, there have been cases that takes longer, but is not too usual!

A letter like the posted here (this is an example, the content is going to vary according to what they ask in particular) will arrive at your mailbox there is going to be what they need you to send them:

Also, check this link to get the correct way to answer them and avoid extra delays:

http://mypathtocitizenship.com/130-request-evidence/

Well, good luck and I hope you resolve that! Another thing, once you reply the RFE, then usually arrives the NOA2 after that, without more RFE´s!

An RFE can be for something as simple as forgetting to sign the forms, forgetting to include a birth certificate, or many other things. Don't worry about what it may or may not be. Whatever it is, there will be someone here who has been through the same and can advise you. It certainly doesn't mean that you have been denied.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

This is a very good answer to calm you down! We are not talking about something serious, and, the good news for you is that your case already was reviewed and is on the top of the line, and once you send the response, approval should be quick and will be issued  in the meantime of 60 days!!!

So don´t worry...

My PD is September 16,2916 we got 2 RFE, first one I don't know what it was for but my lawyer sent the RFE and the first one is to send a passport picture of my husband and I and also send the I485.

we mail that out around June 23,2017 and we are still waiting to hear from them my status have changed to RFE was received and it still saying June 6,2017 we mail a RFE blah blah.

i am praying to God this time we get approved instead RFE again. I notice they is sent RFE they didn't see and when it's time for them to respond they send another RFE and I be like why they didn't include the second RFE in the first one they sent at first.

my guess is sometimes they don't take their own trine.

once you get the lettertry to get things done ASAP and mail it back to them.

We proably received the biggest RFE including complete list of both families, death certificates of both fathers, where he studied English, all itineries of all trips, who paid for them, copies of bank statements for 3 months before and 3 months after trips, who attended marriage party, affivats from those who did not attend and why, affivadit from my mom as to when i told her i would marry,   the list goes on and on

it weighed 25 pounds when sent to California

it was sent out to NVC with my packet 2 days later / no one had time to even read it

i am sure yours will be simple one and proably they just misplaced a document

when you return the document make sure in upper right hand corner you write case number, both DOB's and both names / they will not say to do this but our lawyer did / that way all documents stay with your case

This particular seems to be a mistake of them, USCIS, because if they found something wrong at your aplication , they should send all the data that they need in once RFE, so this makes me feel like wasn´t a very nice job at your case!

Also, the picture of the benefitiary is not needed, but you know what, my wife and I included in the I130 package, just in case!

This is the spirit and the way to think, compare this process like a battle, you will receive a wound (the RFE) deeper or superficial , in the case of  @adil-rafa was very deep as I just read, but is not the end, heal the wound and while healing, response to the RFE ASAP! And keep going, that the longest part will be almost done and finished! In my case, I´m 50-50 expecting  a RFE, but the possible response I have it already prepared, if they ask it, well, will be sended, if not, better!!!!

I I totally agree with you, exactly they shiuld have included all that. Yes I know they didn't need the benefitiary. But they asked for it.

I believe in sending anything they ask and didn't ask incase they need it everything will be there.

i don't blame you and your wife to send it.

that is wise.

Did you say you got another RFE June 6 or replied back to them June 6th?

Jesus take the wheel what a nhgjt mark and crazy journal you had. So sorry it was that long.

I I totally agree with you, exactly they shiuld have included all that. Yes I know they didn't need the benefitiary. But they asked for it.

I believe in sending anything they ask and didn't ask incase they need it everything will be there.

i don't blame you and your wife to send it.

that is wise.

Yes, I received the advise of many wise people here, that said, passport photos of the benefitiary (not needed) , letter of the bishop of your chapel for AOS (not needed), Western Union money transfer receipt of your wife to you, (not needed),  but I included it! The more you include, the more evidence you have! Like I said, just in case, I think , that in this Journey, it's better to overego than to stay short in evidences!
