Re-enter US using Temporary I-551 Stamp on Passport

Hello again!

 

We're already here in the US for almost 3 weeks now and we haven't received our actual green card yet. We already went to the immigration office here in our state to ask the question but they said that we need to wait for the actual green card. I felt that they weren't sure of their answer that's why I've also searched on different forums but I got an opposite answer. So my question is, Can they go back to the Philippines and re-enter the US with only the Visa that we had and Temporary I-551 Stamp on their passport?

Then it's not an F-3 visa.

 

Perhaps you mean an F-3 family preference, in which case it would be an immigrant visa that acts as temporary proof of a green card for up to one year after CBP have stamped and endorsed it.

The I-551 stamp IS a "temporary green card"  you can enter the USA using that stamp.

TEMPORARY I-551 STAMPS AND MRIVS

A machine-readable immigrant visa (MRIV) usually has the following text on it: “UPON ENDORSEMENT SERVES AS TEMPORARY I-551 EVIDENCING PERMANENT RESIDENCE FOR 1 YEAR.” When a new immigrant first enters the U.S., U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will stamp the passport with an admission stamp that indicates the immigrant has permanent resident status and has the date the new immigrant entered the U.S. The employee’s foreign passport with the MRIV is evidence the employee has permanent residence status for 1 year from the date of admission. Even if the MRIV is issued without the statement “FOR 1 YEAR,” employers should treat the MRIV as an acceptable List A document valid for 1 year from the date of admission.

The VISA is dead, it was a single entry visa.  

 

The I-551 (green card) stamp is the same as a green card, shows you are  LPR (Legal Permanent Resident).. this is what you use for entry to the USA

Hmm, so how can they get a new visa? They're actually planning to go back again to the US once they've finished all the things they need to finish in the Philippines.

Yes we did pay for the green card online but we haven't received the actual one yet.
