My fiance is Canadian, I am American. We want to live in the USA.

What is our best option? Should we get married in Canada and file that way? Or file a K1?

Which is less stressful or is it all the same? What would bring us together faster?

Is the the process any different?

Here is a link to the guides comparing the two: http://www.visajourney.com/content/compare

It really depends. Both have advantages and disadvantages. K1 is somewhat faster, but more expensive and the beneficiary cant work until adjusting status. The CR1 allows you to work or go to school immediately and is cheaper but takes a little longer. It's your call, where you want to get married, etc.

It's stressful for all of us going through it but at least Canada to US you should be able to visit easily during the process. Just make sure you do NOT lie to border control when coming or going. Sticking to your plans, filing the right forms and not attempting to immigrate illegally is your best way to ensure frequent visits.

Study this page.  It compares the K-1 and CR-1.  The K-1 will get you together in the US a LITTLE faster, BUT.....the CR-1 is less expensive, your fiance(spouse) can work and travel outside the US immediately after entering the country, and he/she will have a Green Card within a month after entry............

If he/she enters with a K-1, no travel outside the US or work is allowed for at least 3 or 4 months......and he/she must adjust status after marriage in the US.......He/she will not receive a green card for many months....

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
