Just a quick question - if USCIS sent me a letter (like an RFE, NOA2) would it also show on their site when I put in my case number?  I'm asking because I just found out that for some reason a few letters that had been mailed to be were returned to sender.  I've contacted the Post Office to make sure they have correct info (they do) and informed my doormen, so hopefully it will be sorted.  I've lived in same place for over 20 years so no clue why it happened. 

I'm just worrying now that if it isn't sorted out and they send me something I might miss it.  Probably worrying for nothing, but this process makes me nervous.

I suggest getting one of the USCIS apps instead of the website.  To me the apps seem to update more often.  If they sent letters it should show up in the status.

Unfortunately, the USCIS Case Tracker website seems to be lagging behind in updates (or not update at all for some cases). Earlier in the year it was pretty reliable, but has since seemed to not update as often.

 

I suggest signing up for USPS Informed Delivery. You can get images of mail that is expected to be delivered via your email and/or the Informed Delivery website. It won't stop mail being sent to a wrong address, but if it is routed correctly but the mailperson doesn't deliver it, you would still see it in the dashboard/email/mobile app.

Everytime I check the website it still says they are processing February cases.  I may be looking at the wrong place.

Thanks. I have the app and also Informed delivery.  When I spoke to the supervisor at the post office yesterday he said that it wasn't always accurate (sorry).  The letters that were sent to me never showed up on the email I get from informed delivery either  

Mail was sent to the correct address, with my name and apartment number and everything correct.  We are trying to figure out if it was the newish mail person or someone in the building that has same last name and for some reason doesn't realize I am in the building too.  It's a mystery we're trying to solve, but in the meantime I'm so nervous I'm trying to cover all bases.

It is hit or miss really. Usually it updates after they've already mailed it. The best bet would be to call the customer service number and speak to a tier 2.

Ah, sorry. I was referring to the USCIS Case Tracker to track your individual case. I (now) think you were referring to the USCIS Processing Times table.

No need to be sorry! Yes, there will be some discrepancies because those images are from the PDC (before it gets physically loaded on  to the truck and sent to the local post office).

Hmm..then they aren't being routed properly either. This wouldn't be a new mailperson issue if so...since if it's not in Informed Delivery then it never reached the mailperson (or their truck).

I confirmed w/ one of the senders that there was a yellow sticker on the envelope so it definitely was sent back from post office.  Going to try to reach supervisory again to let him know.  This is very strange.  Thank you for your insight geowrian.

My timeline says we probably won't get NOA2 till mid-Dec now so just want to make sure this is sorted before they might be sending me anything in the mail.  Thank you again.
