EAD card after biometrics? What happens if I move?

Hi guys. 

 

Does anybody know how long it takes to get the EAD card after the biometrics? 

 

My husband and I are moving out on Oct  1st and I will call USCIS to update my address on that very same day.

 

Do you think it will be enough time for them to send my EAD to my new address? 

 

I'm worried they won't update it in their system on time and they will send it to the previous address and I won't receive it and they will refuse to re send it to my new address. 

 

Anyone knows what's the options in case they send it and I don't receive it?

You can't call them to update your address.

You need to file form AR-11 online (it is instantaneous submission, and it's free to file) so that the address is updated into their system across all boards immediately.

Approximately 2 months after biometrics is the next time you will be hearing from USCIS again about any update on your application.

I had my biometrics in May 18 and got my EAD approved in July 29 after incessant calling.

Update your address by requesting for it in the USCIS website, you will be filling out a AR-11 form. Also, go online and go to USPS and file for change of address for your family so that all mails will be forwarded to the new address. It will only cost you $1.00. That's what I did, moved to a new home 3 days before my AOS interview. Officer updated my address in the system but told me to do it online via USCIS website as well. My husband then filed for a change of address via USPS.

There had been no problem eversince. I noted in my USPS applications that I want all mails forarded to the new address starting August 28 (date of my AOS interview). September 1 I got the mail from USCIS about my AOS approval.

 

Just make sure you do it on both USCIS and USPS, You should be fine.
