I have problems with all these evidence.

First, we dont have lease together. We lived with his father last year without paying rent. After then, we moved to another state and rented a room. This lady refuses to sign a lease and our renting is based on month to month. Although we dont have lease, we have driver's license, bank statement, phone bills, and other mail's showing that we live together in this address. I dont know if these are sufficient to be evidence.

Second, I dont know who I should ask to help us with notarized affidavits attesting. Because we are far away from our families and do not share friends. Do I have to have someone know us from beginning of my conditional green card to write these letters? I just feel most of our family members do not know our marriage situation too well, are they qualified for this?

the third thing is bill. Because our living condition, we dont have any bills except cell phone bills. But T- mobile can have only one person on bill. Does this evidence a must ?

Thank you for your help.

My personal suggestion is you guys need to try to try to rent an apartment together and if you guys can't get that situated then you need to gather more evidence like pictures of marriage ceremony, gym memberships together, health or car insurance, cable and internet bills showing your names and addresses there.

Have his father write a sworn affidavit stating that you both lived under his roof, the period of time, etc.

Do you have any receipts of rent paid?  Copies of checks?

Do you share car payments?  Both of you on the insurance?  Both of your names on the bank account?  Both of your names on the phone bills?  Other utility bills with both names?

They don't have to know you since you got your green card.  They just have to be aware that you are married, and they know you both at least well enough to state that you seem to have a valid marriage in their own opinion (they have seen you interact with each other as a couple).

Other types of proof:  joint tax filings, letters/cards addressed to both of you congratulating you on your marriage, official wedding announcement you may have sent to others, photos of the two of you together and with each others families and friends, shared health insurance, shared credit card statements, retirement and/or life insurance statements declaring either spouse as the beneficiary, itineraries of travel taken together, etc.

You can also do a Living Will for each other (get the forms online, fill them out for each of you, and have them notarized at your county court clerk's office). Show also anything mailed to you both with both of your names in the address.

It is so difficult for us to try to rent an apartment in a such short time. I really wish I could. We do have car title and insurance with our names and address. I am planing to ask my landlord if she can write a letter for us. Thank you for your advice.

Thank you.  Your answer really helps me a lot.

We can have his father write a sworn statement and we do have copy of checks for renting we have paid.

When I went to green card interview, I almost got denied because we did not have lease together. The interview was so brief. we did prepare lots of evidence like air tickets, pictures, bank statement etc.  But the interviewer had a list, and all she did was checking her list. Because we did not have lease at that time, she rejected my application. Just before we left her office, my husband asked her if lease from other country works. (we lived in another country for a year before we came back to states) She said "will do". This makes me feel nothing can works better than a lease because all they do is check their list.

Unfortunately all the IOs are subjective in how they adjudicate the applications...I wasn't on any lease (still am not) and it didn't matter to the one interviewing me, wasn't even asked to provide one.  It's good that you have copies of the rent checks, at least.

The main proof they are looking for, generally, is evidence of shared residence and evidence of financial co-mingling.  Sometimes you have to think out-of-the-box to gather evidence of this...if you have any invoices with both of your names on it showing major purchases together stating the shared residence (like furniture, carpeting, appliances, etc.) that can be helpful too.
