I am from Europe, so my interview will be there, not Mexico. I have joined this forum to get more information and insight from ppl who are going through the same process as me, as there is no forum for I 601A for European Countries. Thank you for recommendations. I will definitely try to bring every single paperwork I have... but I am still very worried...

I will make sure to review my application and everything on it thoroughly to be well prepared for the interview... Have they asked you any questions about the waiver at the interview? We had a lawyer working on our waiver so I have to make sure to reread it few times before my interview date...

No i Wasn’t asked anything about it. I just showed it to them and they said they had it in their system. But she did want to look at the original.

Hello!  Posting for the first time! Fedex'd our 601a petition for my husband yesterday... No attorney, attempting this myself.  "Complicated" case with 1 throwback, 1 barred ex-attorney's prior filing mistake, and 1 juvenile arrest in Mexico... all cleared up in my husband's affidavit (to my knowledge, fingers crossed!)   So day 1 of waiting and already feeling nauseous.  Good luck to you all!!!

12/5/13 - Receipt date

7/22/15 - I-130 approved, I-485 denied

10/1/15 - appeal denied

9/1/17 - I-824 sent to USCIS

6/29/18 - NVC received I-130

9/6/18 - I-601a sent

Hello,

I had a question about the interview. I know there is no script but do they use the information from your packet to ask questions?

My husband and I have a difficult case. We got a very complicated RFE. I have dual citizenship. I was born in Mexico and I am requesting a waiver for my husband who is also from Mexico. The RFE stated to have more information based on hardship and credibility. It wasn't believed that I would leave to Mexico with him and also staying in the u.s. Is what I would choose since I make more money than him. We sent a psych report which was never sent in the beginning (I know big mistake).

I know we haven't gotten approved but I am being hopeful that we provided a good RFE packet to get approved. The RFE requested more evidence supporting scenerio a) hardship if I stay in the U.S. without my husband and b) hardship if I leave and live in Mexico with him. We sent a new declaration letter supporting hardship. Talked about religious beliefs, family separation, safety, mental health. We sent a psych report with an assessment. Additional letter from family. I am a teacher so we also talked about wage differences and my principal wrote a letter and my co worker as well. Our original packet was highly picked at by the officer. I am hopeful that our packet is good enough to be approved but now I am scared about the interview for my husband.

I know I am thinking ahead since most people are saying that it is taking 6-7 months for an interview. I am worried that the questions will be regarding getting an RFE or asking about me being Mexican? Does anyone have a similar story as mine. I make more money than him so we focused more on the emotional and psychological health that I am experiencing currently that will experience if I leave with my husband to Mexico and also if I stay here without him. Just wondering if anyone has something similar.

Thank you for listening.

My mom has been waiting for her interview to be scheduled since May. Yet we haven’t heard anything back yet. How long does this usually take? We reciveid an email saying she was in queue for an interview.

I’ve been seeing people from April 2018 getting appointments for December 2018. It’s taking about 6-8 months for an appointment. Hopefully you’ll get your appointment soon for January 2019

Leaving to Mexico should not be an option. If you have kids your kids have right to Education here and Medical health here. You and your kids and husband have better opportunities here. Both of you know only how to live in the USA. If 601a approved and your application is true and correct then your husband should not have problem answering correctly. Everything that is in your application should be answered same verbally. If he does not have any criminal history other than traffic tickets then their should not be any reason for denial at interview.
