I did the waiver my self and sent it on july 14, 2017

and I did the biometrin on July 26, 2017

now it’s been almost 3 month and I requested for expediting and they usually don’t approved request for expediting because of all cases are humanitarian cases and they all importatnt

anyway they told me 6 month is the longest wait

but I’m hoping for 5 month

Hopefully you hear from them soon! From what i have seen it is taking typically 4.5 to 5 months so you should hear from them NOV or Dec. Update us on once you hear back. Best wishes! :)

Hello,

I have a question; if we are doing a 601a wavier do we have to do the "Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application (DS-260)". We already paid the "IV Fee" but we are not sure if we should do the DS-260 ; if someone can give us some feedback we will appreciate it! Thank you!

Hello jnadia

Everyone does it a little differently, it really does not matter you can do either before or after. Either way your case at NVC will be placed on hold until you I-601A is approved. We did it before sending our waiver.

Going in for my biometrics on Friday 10/20. I'm so nervous.

I know I can definitely understand that. Don't be nervous! You will be just fine! Just one step closer to the end of this long and crazy process. ;)

Thank you for your help! Also, we only have paid the IV Fee not the AOS Fee? Should we pay both (just in case)?

You have to have your IV fee payed before filling the waiver . Once you payment is completed then you can send the waiver.

Are you filing I601A? If yes then you can get the waiver filed. If not then you move on to the next NVC stage: submitting your civil documents.

Yes we are filing the I60A waiver but i thought mean while he would receive the red temporary card to work its a Visa but color red.

You don't receive authorization to work while waiting. The waiver does not give you legal status, just  waives the ineligibility.  You get your green card after your consular processing.
