Country: Pakistan
Timeline

Dear all,

I am a Pakistani citizen and going to marry a US green card holder. We got engaged one week back. I have completed MBBS from Pakistan and currently doing job in my home country. I have not yet written USMLE. My plan is to give USMLE step 1 in FEB 2018 and Step 2 CK by June and and CS by August 2018. I am confused and I would like to know the options of entering USA because we would like to marry in USA rather than our home country. My fiance wishes to file my application for green card from USA because if we apply from our own country Pakistan, this will take around 3 or 4 years. I need your expert advice regarding adjustment of status. Please note that I know my fiance from last 3 years and we have a record of whatsapp/email/photos etc.

My questions are:
If I come to USA on J1 visa and then get married on J1 visa. Will my fiance be able to apply for my adjustment of status? Will the marriage lead to cancellation of J1 visa?
If I come to USA on student visa, Is it possible to maintain student status while being married to a US green card holder.
Are there any job opportunities in USA for me? Are there any organizations who can offer me a work visa based on my research experience?
