Traveling to the Philippines

My wife (a Filipino citizen) is planning to travel to the Philippines with our USC minor child. Is it ok for them to get a one way ticket? They will of course be returning back, but we are not sure of the exact date. I understand round trip tickets are usually cheaper but at this time, we prefer a one-way ticket if there will be no issues with the immigration.

Not an issue at all. Just make sure her ticket is in the name of on her passport, and make sure she brings her marriage license AND IT IS SHOWN WHEN SHE GETS TO MANILA IMMIGRATION.

Wife no issue.  Is the child dual citizen?  .. just read your other post.  Child is USC only, need a round trip ticket or a "throw away" ticket (most get a ticket on CebuAir or such to HK or?? for cheap)

Foreigners (your daughter) can get a BB stamp in her passport good for year as she is traveling with her Filipina mother.

No, she's not. She's a USC. She does not have a Filipino passport, might be too late to get one now if they will be leaving next month.

Do you think the child could go back under the Balikbayan visa?

Did you complete ROB (Report of Birth) with the Philippines consulate for your state?

That;s what I was thinking as well because when we took our daughter back all we had was her passport and her birth certificate showing my asawa as her nanay. So she was able to avail of that visa even though the flight back was over a month a while.

Thanks for the info. No, we haven't done the Report of Birth, hence, too late to get a Philippine Passport now. Can our daughter get a balikbayan stamp on her US Passport, if my wife brings my daughter's birth certificate?

YES. Just make sure your wife brings the birth certificate with her when they fly to the Philippines. We did the same thing with my daughter when we took her to the Philippines. We had to show her birth certificate at immigration in the Manila airport at arrival and she got the Balikbayan visa which allows for a longer stay. I don't know about exit because I left after 2 weeks and they left after 6 weeks.

So tell your wife to bring your daughter's BC and your Marriage Certificate. Does your wife have her passport in your married or maiden name?

Good question!!     Wife may need to carry a copy of the marriage certificate (if she didn't renew her passport in her married name) as I bet the birth certificate shows her married name.

(I need to get more coffee, I am slow this morning.. )
