So my 90 days before my 2 year Permanent Residency is October 2nd this year, so we're starting to get the application together and I'm hoping on some advice for evidence based on our situation.

We currently live on the lower level of my husbands grandparents house and pay them board, electric, cable and internet every month so we don't have any sort of lease or mortgage with our names.

We have a joint checking and savings. I'm on his car insurance (I don't currently have my own car). We have a one year old daughter. We're both on our T-Mobile plan. We filed the last two tax years jointly. We will shortly be on the same health insurance plan. So just all of that is what we have for the most part.

We dont have assets of any kind. I thought of possibly having his grandfather write a letter saying what we pay him for and how much every month if that would even make a difference? Also some potential letters from friends as support of evidence.

Any advice for my situation is appreciated! The last thing I would want is an RFE or to he denied! Thank you!

Google Wills and Power of Attorneys for your state and do it yourself. I've heard they help and included 'em in my package.

Any club/gym memberships? AAA membership? Wedding invitations where the envelope or invitation has both your names? Just about any paper document that has both of your names, and especially your address is a good idea to include.

Yes, this is a good idea as well, make sure he also notes that you both live there with him in the letter.

You have a good amount of evidence of co-mingling of finances.  If you have copies of employment life insurance/retirement plan showing either of you as the beneficiary that would be helpful too.

Yes, please do wills and Medical Powers of Attorney, especially since you have a child.  VERY important that you plan for your child in case you and your spouse are ever (god/dess forbid) killed at the same time.

And definitely get that letter from your family member about your housing situation.

Good luck!
