Privacy-Privacy

I stated it as a privacy issue and used the word more than once because..

"Privacy Permissions" is the title for that section in Android settings, and the latest "spyware", called a Grab app .. now wants access to 10.. count 'em TEN different areas within that section titled Privacy Permissions.   Grab doesn't need access to any of that private information to schedule a RIDE.

- If I cop pulls you over and asks - May I search your car?  And you say YES ... do you think he is NOT going to search your car?  Are you thinking he just wants to know if you will allow him that permission?

When you grant a permission for someone to use something ... in the real world it is logical to expect they will use whatever you granted them access to.  Neighbor asked if he could use my drill.. Guess what!  He used it.

I am a big believer in PRIVACY and quite frankly I am so glad my wife came around to my way of thinking as well. That's why I give as few permissions as possible in regards to my phone and it helps keep me at ease honestly. Also dealing with and learning Information Security I have learned alot in how to keep myself and my family safer at the very least. That is why with everything going on I took my photo off of here so that someone won't get offended by anything and try to find me using my photo.

Just to let y'all know that there is a service where you can hack into someone's android phone and listen in to their conversations unknowingly. I am not a qack or a wacko but this is a proven fact, and it is quite alarming.

I have always allowed police to search my car no matter what and 80% of the time the police won't do it but they just want to see if you will allow them to. But I did have bad experience back in December 2003.

I was heading to go see my gf on her birthday which is Dec 21. The base where I was stationed at was a good 3 hours(normal driving) from where my gf was at the time, and it was a country highway the first 45 minutes until I-40. So I was trying to go as fast as possible to make it to go see my gf for her bday dinner and I ended up being stopped by some Barney Fife cop in Kenansville for speeding. He asked what I was doing and why I was speeding, I told him the truth. He asked to search my car and asked the usual things, I said I have a pocket knife in there and nothing else. So I go by his car while he is searching my car for a few minutes. He finds one of my empty M16 magazines in my car in which we are allowed to have. He runs up to me and yells "Where is weapon, where is the GD weapon BOY" all the while waving my magazine around. I told him that I have the magazine but the weapon is back in the armory where it should be, he then searched everything and let me go. I still laugh about it to this day but it did scare me at the time.

Cop wants to search my car.. NOPE.  They want to arrest me.. fine.  I toss the keys inside the car lock the door and close it... done.  Now they have to break in.

If I get pulled over for speeding I inform the cop that I have a weapon (because I CARRY), most just ask me to point to where it is, others simply say - That's fine, just leave it where it is and don't care.

Cops in Tucson are trained to use this statement - I have the right to search your car, MAY I?   The uninformed let them.  I don't.

I have nothing to hide from a cop.

I don't give carte blanche to whomever ...    and that includes GRAB now.

I never had a picture of me on here ... never will.  I don't make YT videos about "life in the Philippines, or how to get your visa faster" ..

Some from VJ know me, we have shared coffee or even a cold one or two.  Some have my email address.  Most with questions they want kept private PM me on here or email at the address I provided ... and I respect their privacy.
