09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

For most all of your list.. NO ISSUE.   No customs fees either... as it is personal use, no need to declare.

Most airlines allow you two suitcases at 50 lbs. each for international travel.. no fees, doesn't matter how many connecting flight you have as long as you booked them all together.

.. now I will .. just go away.

If you book the flights together your checked bags should go all the way through to the Philippines.  Generally no fees for up to two 50# (27kg) bags as has previously been stated.

The 12 ounces of sleep aid may be a problem.  I believe you are limited to 3 fl oz of any liquid in your carry on.  I would bring a bigger bottle in your checked bag and a smaller bottle of zzz in your carry on.  Bottles of water will most likely be confiscated at the security check point.  You can buy it after you get through security but depending on where you are making the connecting flights they may or may not allow any bottled water onto the plane.  I know this is true in Hong Kong.  They search your bag after you turn in your boarding pass at the gate.

I just got back from my 4th trip to the Philippines this year.  Just relax and enjoy the LONG trip!!!  They will constantly feed you on the plane.  I take Imodium Multi to help beat the "plane bloat".  Get some meds for bloating and take them before you leave.

I agree with TBoneTX.  You had an attitude before you even started.  TBoneTX helped you by moving you to a forum where your questions could be answered and your response is more abuse.  As a moderator, TBoneTX was only helping you.  If you are offended because he asked you to be polite I believe you are the one with the issues.  Just relax, we are here to help.  All of us...

They generally allow two bags at 50 pounds each.  You can take a carry on and a personal bag.  Be careful with the carry on size.  Some airlines are very strict while others are not.  The carry on must not exceed 15 kg.  What airline are you flying?

No additional charge for correctly sized carry on and a backpack.

There should not be any additional fees.  Extra cash is up to you.  If your stopovers are long you may want some food or drink.  I have never spent anything during my stopovers but your flights may make it a very long day!!!  All of my trips had just one stopover.

You will see no additional fees and spending money during the stopovers is completely up to you.

Just relax and try to get as much sleep as possible.  I dont have a big issue going there but the jet lag after getting home is nasty.  Crossing the International Dateline always makes for an interesting trip. I really suggest the anti gas/bloating drugs for the trip.  Comfortable shoes (you will swell up during the trip) and clothes are a plus.  Drink plenty of water because the air on planes can be very dry.  Mainly just relax and go with the flow.  It is going to be a very long day.  Get as much sleep as you can.
