I'm sure I've overlooked the answer this question but I'm hoping for a little help. My hubby and baby are traveling to Manchester Sunday for 10 days, my son and I have US Passports yet my hubby has a UK passport with a 10 year greencard. Can we enter together or will we have to separate at custome? I know we can go together on our trip home to the US but for the life of me I can't remember going out there whats required. 😅

Many Thanks!

The UK's border control page says you should move through immigration as a family, and that if you're from the EU/EEA you can use the EU/EEA line (but you don't have to). As one of you isn't EU/EEA, the implication is that you should all use the non-EU/EEA line. In practice, though, you can just get away with all going through whichever line looks shorter or faster.

He's dual in the sense of birth but I have to send of birth records and such to the UK to have it approved. I inquired about a UK passport a while back for him and my oldest (8 years old) but never actively seeked dual on paper.

So your oldest also has a UKC father, I would get them their passports, unlike the UK they can still visit on the US passports.

Depending on the airport, the non-EU line can be much shorter and quicker. Not sure about Manchester, but the London airports (with the exception of first thing in the morning when the overnight long-hauls arrive) there are far more EU people than anything else. And usually just 2 desks and 3 e-gates for them all.
