Crossborder accountant

Does anyone know a good accountant for both US and Canada?

We use Grant Thorton, Halifax office.  Not sure about other Cdn offices, I think they have one in Toronto.

We use Mark Schiffer who is based out of Vancouver, BC. We did everything remotely because we don't live on the coast. I'd highly, highly recommend Mark. He's transparent about his fees and if you need to talk to him about anything he's a great resource to talk to. I first used him to do the Offshore procedures as my spouse had never filed US taxes before. He was by far cheaper than anybody else I looked into and he did a fantastic job.

 

However he only does US taxes and not Canadian.

For cross border its best to use someone who is more than an accountant. I've heard multiple people say they need to hire someone else to fix up an accountants mess for cross border ; I met with this company in Toronto but they have multiple offices ..they are tax lawyers who focus on cross border compliance.   https://www.ustaxlaw.ca/
