Hi all,

As my Fiancee and I anticipate the NOA2 (Hopefully not an RFE) sometime soon, will we receive an Email, status change online or a letter?

What happens first?

What has your experience been like?

Have your received a hard copy and not an email?

Has your Status online changed before you received anything?

Thanks for your input and best of luck to you all.

You should get an email/text that will notify you that there was movement on your case. It seems that the online case status checker has been working somewhat more frequently now, but I think it still is unreliable. My case still says it was 'received' by USCIS on December 19 2016 and not listed as approved even though we have now completed the whole process. :P

If you don't receive some kind of e-notification, you will receive a hard copy letter in the mail. This was our case even though we signed up for e-notifications, but some some reason me and many other VJ members were randomly surprised with our NOA2 letters in the mail.

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

this is where you can check your status. you need the number from the NOA1. starts with 3 letters, for example WAC for California service center

Can someone help me about my concern, my foreign fiance filed the K1 on March 2017, we got approved and recieved the NOA2 on June 16, 2017 and the NVC letter. On August 14, I completed my DS-160. It says that the USEM consulate will contact me when they are ready to process my petition, but until now I didn't recieve yet anything coming from them, but I already done with the medical exam and scheduled my interview. My interview will be on Sept.20, will it be a trouble if I dont have the NOA1 on hand? Although I already have my MNL#?

If you have your NOA2, I doubt you need the NOA1. NOA1 is notice of action that they received your I 129F, and they can t give you NOA2 without having received your application and documents. Based on you wrote, I feel your Fiance should be just fine.

Where s his interview? Although NOA2 is a major step, the interview could be an issue based on some factors including where he will interview.

Best of luck and pray for us all.

@Jejejen Did you get the NOA1 in the mail and misplace it or did you never receive NOA1 notification? You shouldn't need the NOA1 on hand anyway, bringing the NOA2 is suggested but also not a strict requirement.

I know that Manila has a few specific requirements for the interview (such as CENOMAR), so you might get more specific answers over in the Philippines sub forum:
