Please don't say that.

She may not be able to use this medical for her current visa application (petition filed by her ex) but this will definitely have an effect on any future visa application and not just for the US but other countries as well.  SLEC (St. Lukes Medical Extension Clinic) is the ONLY clinic accredited by the governments of USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, etc. here in the Philippines. If the OP tests positive for TB, it will PRIMARILY not be be about the visa. She has to do the treatment ASAP. It is about her health. Though TB is no cancer it remains in the top 10 killer diseases in the country. That's why they are far more stricter with applicants coming from our country. But SLEC keeps records and if OP tests positive for TB on her medical for her US visa application, that will come up when she does her Medical say for Canada, Australia, etc. in the future.

STOP DISCOURAGING HER FROM PROCEEDING WITH THE MEDICAL. JUST FULL STOP.

EDIT: She already paid for it. Everything is included in the fee here, even the treatmnet.

Please listen to notantifun. And disregard the judgemental  posts. :)

Why do so many immediately think of being petitioned again when a relationship ends?

No problem. I did my sputum test back in June and I completed my medical last August 24. I had my interview September 1, received my visa September 8. I fly end of this month.

Be positive.

notantifun, did you get an annotation on your visa?

The annotation show my petitioner's name, the petition number and it says MED: CLASS B.

Why go through the interview if you are not going to be with this person?

I agree you should complete the medical but there is no reason to interview since they will already see that you are no longer together.

Cancel the interview and be thankful you are negative.  You will have to go through the entire process again if you find another partner.

I was surprised when I saw that too.  There is no reason to go and going may even hurt her in the future...

Hopefully the petitioner was smart enough to notify the embassy he's not proceeding with the petition.

Looks like OP is going for the 90 day tourism visa under K-1.

But isn't that an automatic denial since it is no longer a fiancee visa?

IF the petitioner never informed the Embassy of the termination of the relationship or has never cancelled the visa, the beneficiary could still get the visa under the guise that they are still together and all is well. It will be a huge lie and big risk but it could be done and we have seen it.

The problem is the K1 visa is tied directly to the petitioner and once the beneficiary is in the US there would be no way to gain legal status UNLESS they convince the original petitioner to do so. So ultimately without the petitioner they would be illegal. For some, just getting on US soil is enough.

There was a guy a couple of years ago that shared his K1 story. He waited in the airport for his fiance who never showed up. After some investigation it turns out she used the K1 visa that he applied for to enter the US so she can be united with her real boyfriend.
