Mother-in-law flying up for wedding

Hello everyone,

My mother in law is flying up for our wedding, from brazil.. She doesnt speak any english, will this be a problem? like going through immigration, customs, etc?

Lots of brazilians come to the States to visit and the only english they know is ''hot dog'' It won't be a problem if she's ok with the fact she won't understand anybody and nobody will understand her.

To help in immigration and customs, I'd have her bring a letter, written in English, explaining exactly why she's coming to the US, how long she will stay and that you and your family will be totally responsible for her during her stay. That will help if they start asking her questions that she can't answer. Other than that I noticed that every major airport that has flights from Brazil coming in have either immigration officers that speak Portuguese or airline employees that do, in case she needs extra help.
