Hello all,

First of all I'd like to say how fantastic this website is, it has really helped me so far with my visa.

I am about to do my interview at the US embassy, the final step (?) toward marrying my american girlfriend. There is however a few issues;

My Fiance is self employed, she recently set up her business and is yet to file a tax return, because of this e have chosen to use a  "Report of commercial rating" which i have now in hand. Also in the affidavit we state her net worth (<40k) and past two years bank account activity (signed by officials).. does this sound ok? will I have issues around the lack of tax reports and do we require a co-sponsor?

Secondly, my fiancé did not keep a copy of her I-129F, we have some documents such as letter of intent/birth certificate/proof of relationship

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you

London is fairly relaxed on the finance side but to be honest I'm not sure they'll be that relaxed.

I would (if possible) have a co sponsor in place, if your fiancée will have more complete finances by the time you AOS the co sponsor would be under no legal obligation.

For the rest, updated letters of intent are usually only asked for if you are past the petition expiry date, they rarely want any other evidence of relationship ( I took masses and the CO just smiled at me and said approved, never even got to open the file)

London is mostly about you (the beneficiary) and your documents, the USC provide theirs with the initial application.

If you do have any issues with paperwork at interview don't panic, they'll let you get what's needed and send it in :)

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

You don't need a copy of the I-129F at your interview.

Going forward, make a copy of every application packet you mail in just to keep for your record. It's simply a good practice. That means the forms, evidence, the check, the receipt from mailing......
