My wife is an US citizen and applied for me. On July 31, 2017, I attended my immigrant visa interview at US Embassy in Bangladesh. At the end of interview, Consulate Officer told me that my interview is approved and could collect my passport with visa within 10 to 15 days. They did not give me any blue slip. They kept my passport. But till today, CEAC status is showing ‘ready’.

On, 15 August,2017, I emailed them. They replied that:

"We are in the middle of processing your immigrant visa application to conclusion . You will need to wait for an email from your pre-selected visa collection center for confirmation prior to collecting your passport."

But, I am still waiting for email about my passport collection. Ceac status updated after my email only. Status is still showing ready. Don't know how long to wait. Any one face this similar condition?

You are currently in what is called AP (Administrative Processing).  Once you are in this stage, the amount of time can be indefiinite.

Given that in a few days it will be one month from the day your were advised that your visa will be ready, I would recommend contacting your US Senator for assistance or the Ombudsman

Ombudsman link:  https://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance

Who is your senator ?   https://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm?State=IL

Thanks aghaaz0719  for your advice. But, The Ombudsman deals only with USCIS. Ombudsman does not deal with Embassy in foreign country.                Check the link: https://cis.org/What-Does-USCIS-Ombudsman-Do-and-Not-Do

After interview there are a series of steps   Ready - AP  - Ready - Issued.  There are some final checks and processes that have to be comleted before your visa is issued.  You can read up in the AP forum on the many beneficiaries still waiting through this process.  Each embassy and applicant/beneficiary case is different.  There can be days, weeks, and/or months between each step.

Today Embassy replied :

"Thank you for contacting the U.S. Embassy, Dhaka.

Our office will contact you shortly with updated instructions.

We appreciate your patience in this matter.".

Yes, they are working on it.  Try to be patient.  Maybe review some Bangladesh timelines to see how long it took others to receive their visas.

My spouse just went through tgis process and was approved for a visa earlier this month.

Based on our experience, the CEAC website sometimes is slow to update. I would not worry about the ceac website and use the correspondence you have received from the NVC or the US Embassy, Dhaka as a more efficient way of tracking your progress.

As always we are here to help :)
