Hi Everyone,

First of all please apologize me if my English grammar is bad. Thank You!

I am Indian and I was married to USA citizen(Indian) and he sponsored me Green Card. We were married in Feb 2012 and I came to USA Dec2012. Within few months everything went wrong and he and his parents started complaining that I was not good enough. We didn't have any intimate relationship. He threatened me and my family about Divorce and sent me back to India and started Divorce process.I don't know what to do and I came running back to USA to save my marriage. After I came, he never let me inside the house and I have to stay in neighbor's house. Luckily his Uncle and Aunt lives in Detroit, Michigan they requested my husband to send me to their place and they said they will resolve the issue. So my husband booked flight ticket to Detroit and send me to Michigan. I went to Michigan and started living in his Uncle and Aunt's house. They tried to resolve the issue but he(Husband) and my In-Laws were stubborn and filed for divorce. I was so innocent and I don't know what to do. His Aunt is really nice, she tried to solve the problem and helped to reconcile the relationship but it didn't work. He threatened me that I should sign the divorce papers or else there is a law that if I don't sign the papers there is voluntarily divorce that he can be approved. So I signed the papers in front of his Uncle and Aunt. After that I stayed little while with his uncle and Aunt and they helped me build my life. They encouraged me to apply school and start education so that I can stand on myself and lead my life. I joined school and started working in small store. So after 2 years I applied for Removing conditions for Green Card and I am successfully approved. Now I am near to apply US Citizenship so I have few questions so please help me. I never got married afterwards the divorce and was busy structuring my life. He married another girl with in a year. My question is he filed for Divorce and I didn't know anything about it much when I was signing papers. We never had intimate relationship(no sex (Indian Marriage)) - He came to marry me to India and everything happened in 20days and he left for USA afterwards. I came to USA after 10months(visa approval) and after coming here the fights started for silly things. His parents used to live with us and they always involve in small issues too. Whatever it is, happened is happened!!! Now I want to apply USA citizenship but before I want to get rid of this stupid thing from my life. Can I apply annulment because the marriage was never consumed? does it affect the USA citizenship? Please help me. I don't like to be called a Divorcee!!!! What did I do in Life? being nice made me call Divorcee. I want annulment so that I want to stay single and not married. Please help me.

Any questions further please reply me.

You are single and not married even if it is through divorce.  You did "get rid of this stupid thing from your life".  It's over.   Not sure why you are worried about a word.   Instead of focusing on your past , the failed marriage, and divorce, move on and focus on the future.  In my opinion, it is silly to waste valuable time and money on legal processes so you can be happy with a terminology.

You're already divorced legally, so there's no need to file for an annulment.

An annulment doesn't make you any more single than a divorce does.

It doesn't affect your path to citizenship at all.

Look, he filed for a divorce and you signed the divorce papers so like it or not, you are a divorcee. Truly, does it matter that much that you're called that or is it more important that you have all the proper documentation that you need for your N-400? Get your priorities straight. Your marriage to him is history now and both of you have moved on. Why stress yourself out over something so unimportant at this point?

Your marriage to him is history now and both of you have moved on. I know its a past but why me? it haunts me that I am called as a Divorcee. But thank you for the reply.

If it is Green Card why should I struggle? Still working in a store for low income. No money just leading my life.

Sh-t happens, unfortunately. Live your life the best you can now. Karma will bite him in the a-s someday. Don't you worry about it ;)

Someone already addressed this, you keep asking the same thing, you need to come to the realization that its all done, there's nothing more you can do regarding the marriage.
