Does anyone have an estimate for how long the process will be from sending the petition to getting the visa? We filed our petition in early August. I read that on average it's usually 5-6 months for the overall process but found on one site it should be expected to be looking at a 9-12 month wait

K1 Visa normally takes 5 - 6 months processing for NOA2 only. Plus, another 1 month before your case gets transferred to your preferred embassy and then you can set up the appointment.

There are some filers who are still waiting for their NOA2 (6 months and counting). It needs a lot of patience especially and you really have no choice but to wait for the approval.

Processing times have gone up recently. I would say it's taking an average of 6-9 months for visa in hand now, but I would budget in extra time to account for any RFEs, slow downs at the CSC, slow downs at the embassy level, ect. Good luck!

There is one march filer who is still waiting for her case to be approved (almost 6 months now). It is frustrating of how they handle cases now (USCIS) but all you have to do is be patient. If it is passed 150 days, you can seek help from your local congressman. Some filers were able to get a feedback and have their cases approved after they contacted their local senator or congressman.

the process is case dependent, foreign ependentcountry dependent, petionioner dependent, and office dependent

some petitions require additional evidence

some offices are slower than others

some petitioners do not provide documents as soon as needed

some countries require additional background checks

a friend of ours took 7 months while another took 13 for same type of visa applicaiton

@jaybeltisroy Okay, I understand now. I thought that's what you meant. What embassy is their fiance/e going to for the interview? Mine will be going to London

If i am not mistaken the interview will be conducted in india. @kris&me has a point too! It depends of where the interview will be conducted because they have to do a lot of background check. As for you, London is fast in terms of scheduling the interview. As long as you have the approval from USCIS it will take like 40 days minimum for you to be interviewed. The timeline includes NOA2 approval to NVC, NVC approval to case "READY" by London Embassy and the interview itself.

I'm an early January filer and I'm stillllll waiting. They issued us an RFE almost 7 months later. We sent in the additional documents 24 hours later and now it's been almost 2 months since they received.

I think I'm going crazy, Haha!

Hi good morning!

Yes i remember you @Lsthorpe1 from the previous thread. I can't believe that until now you still have not received any feedback after you submitted the required documents for the RFE. The process is really crazy nowadays. Just keep the faith and i know yours will be approved very soon.
