Updating photos because of haircut or another physical change?

Hi!

For example, if I wanted to dye my hair to a completely different color than the current one, should I

A) submit new passport pictures immediately or

B) bring them on the interview date? (Already had biometrics done).

How do people deal with this? Even for a haircut (from really long to nothing, just an example here). Do they send updated pictures immediately or wait until getting the greencard petition approved? Just curious about this.

Thanks

Personally, I really don't think you would need new pictures in your case.

Think about passports for babies born in America...they are valid for 5 years...obviously they are not going to look the same as they were an infant in their photo 3,4, or 5 years down the road----and their passport is still accepted as valid documentation when crossing the border.

When my daughter was 3, I took her on a trip to Canada and her US passport photo was from when she was 6 months old...I asked the border official "how do you know it's really her???" out of curiosity considering she's obviously very different physically looking since that photo was taken..all he said was "we have ways of knowing"---they focus more on the facial features, obviously, not the hair length or color.

Plus---people change their hair color frequently...who's to say you won't change it back again, or to another color, before your interview date? :)  I suppose if you color your hair a shocking pink, and plan on having that color and same hairstyle for the rest of your life...then yes, maybe bring new photos...
