I had the same sort of thing happen to me but it was the other way around. They had sent mine to Montreal even though I was living in the Vancouver area ...

The only thing that I could figure out was that they looked at my place of birth rather than where I was living when they were figuring out which consulate to send my petition to(obviously this was a mistake on their part) ... When I called them and asked why they had sent my petition to Montreal it took me awhile to explain that I didn't live in Quebec that I was born there and that I was currently living in BC. Once I got this through their thick heads they relised that they had made a mistake and they instructed Montreal to forward my file on to Vancouver once they received it ... They were very appologetic ...

Did you happen to be born in a western province and they made the same error ??

I hope that doesn't happen to me! I was born in Montreal and moved to Alberta when I was 9.

Mel did put down Vancouver on the form. I hope it goes there!

If they do mess it up just call the National Visa Center and explain the situation to them ... They should get Montreal to redirect it to Vancouver ....

It only ended up being a week or week and half extra delay ...

Welll... I finally heard that NVC received my case from CSC today... and they told me it was on its way to Montreal. So I didn't get lucky and have it sent to Vancouver, damn :P

No packet 3 yet - apparently it has been sent so I should get it early next week... or never.. you know how Canada Post works!! :)

Fax that checklist back along with your DS-230! Vancouver will schedule your interview right away and send you an interview letter. :)

Congrats!! Send it in and run!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I don't think you have to check that your medical is DONE but that it has been SCHEDULED... so I think the answer to your question is yes. No fair that you're going through Vancouver without having to transfer!!! :blush:
