A cough lasting 3 weeks or longer is a symptom of TBdisease. People with latent TB infection do not have symptoms, but may still need treatment.

Means u may have latent TB and only the chest xray shows the problem / get treatment

in 2009 medical exam my husband showed small spot on his lungs / quit smoking and took the treatment / his lungs were clear in the next medical exam

his treatment was only 2 weeks as it turned out not to be TB but was other infection / at this time we stopped the K1

OP you do not have to follow this path.  This is just what they chose to do.  Do not concern yourself with that.  You should continue to follow the medical exam center/doctor instructions.  Follow through with what they tell you to do as far as testing and treatment.  The embassy will extend your K1 visa application time.  You can notify the embassy and request a extension if that make you feel more comfortable.
