Not sure it means very much other than what was already obvious, but my estimated completion date (July 2018 filer) changed today from May 2019 (which obviously was not happening) to September 2019.  With a 2 month wait in the box underneath that, I guess for the interview scheduling.

The NYC field office is near bottom of the rankings (about #76 out of 86) in terms of processing speed and number of backlogged cases and we are living that pain.

I am Queens filler and originally I had 11 months estimated time. I am on "We reviewed your biometrics" and estimate time for case and time under biometrics was 6 months just yesterday. Today case estimate completion time stayed at 6 month mark, but time under biometrics changed to 5 months.

 

I am unsure if this time is even reliable, but I guess that is a good time that they didn't add more time to the process.

Bear in mind that election for President is coming up, so many permanent residents are applying for naturalization thinking they can vote on election day.

Election could be one of the factor that is why the processing takes much longer, just hang in tight guys and your time will come.

05/09/19: Received email, passport application has been finished processing with USPS tracking number and expected delivery is on 05/14/2019

05/10/19: Receive email from USPS informed Delivery - Expected Passport delivery is on 05/11/2019

05/11/19: Passport book received thru USPS Priority Mail

Also it's the case that the current administration does not want people voting! Hence the complete failure and refusal to allocate appropriate resources to processing hundreds of thousands of pending cases.

Oath taken today at the Federal court house at 500 Pearl Street with 161 other people. It was a nice ceremony. Registered to vote and applied in person on Hudson Street for expedited US passport. This is finally finished!

I saw processing time data last night from 2018 and in August of 2018, the processing time in NYC (the lower end) was 8.5 months. This has since blown out to 13 months. I fear things are moving in the wrong direction with 30,000 backlogged cases. Most people with pending cases saw our "estimated case completion" dates change last week with various months being added. I wonder if this is going to happen again in the near future. It's very concerning. I wonder if there has even been any effort on the part of New York's senators to intervene in this mess and demand that residents of NYC be treated in a more fair manner when it comes to dealing with wait times for citizenship. It's truly unjust that people in one city can be forced to wait a year while those in other places move through the entire process and become citizens in 3-6 months.

Yep, I agree. My processing time was 13 months even though I had my interview in 5 months. They are just incompetent.
