It might also mean that a supervisor will review your file and give the final stamp of approval. If that's the case, then its only a matter of time to receive your approval.

did you experience something similar? And if so, how long did it take?

 

I've heard people on this forum say it can take up to a day to even a year, assuming you do not contact them after the 90 days written on the paper.

It should say on the notice that the officer gives you. Mine said they will respond within 120 days.

Did the officer ask you extra documents ? If no, then most probably its up for supervisor review. Nothing you can do but just wait.

She didn't ask me for extra documents but sent me that RFE two months after.

Correct but she did give you the hint that you didn't bring enough evidence on the day of the interview so an RFE was heading your way in your case anyways.

Hi. My Mom had an interview at NYC on September 20th and still waiting for Oath Letter. It is almost 2 months and nothing yet is this normal?

Time line:

Application filled: Jan 2017

Fingerprints: February 2017

Initial Interview July 6th but she failed the test and officer told her to come for second interview September 20th

Second Interview: Sep 20th passed the test and still waiting for oath letter. Can someone ple give advise? I called few time and they said wait up to 90 days. Also online status shows Interview scheduled for July 6th 2017. No update at all.

My wife had her interview the day before your mom (19th), she is still waiting for her oath.

 

It looks like NYC have a lot of applicants that they are trying to schedule oath for, so just be patient. The oath will be coming soon.

Is there a way to follow up on our case? I am still in line for interview since early June although I filed in May. My field office is New York and the uscis website shows outdated processing times (hasn't been updated since August).  At first I didn't anticipate to hear back from them anytime soon, but after looking at other May filers' timelines, I am beginning to wonder.

What is the field office where your mother got interviewed ? Did the interviewing officer check the box which starts with Congratulations or did he/she checked the decision cannot be made box on the form that is given after the interview ?

 

Getting Oath letter can take a while. If she passed the interview, she just needs to wait for the letter.

What is your field office in NY ? There are like 3 in the NYC area. You will probably see some movement on your case this month or maybe next month. You can call USCIS and talk to a level 2 officer ( request the customer rep politely that you want to talk to an actual immigration officer) and ask him/her what the internal status of your case is. They have access to the internal systems and may tell you where your file is.
