Hello everyone,

I came here today to express my frustration after my interview that was yesterday May 2nd after 9 month,

so my case is really simple I applied for citizenship in July 2018 after 5 years in the us, I had 5 regular years,

so everything was good for my interview I passed the tests answered the yes no questions and after she started asking about my trips I go to my country every year I stay a month and come back but the IO said that it shows on their system that I was out of the country for more than a year in 2016 but it’s not true I had stump on my passport but she said that she needs more proofs because the system shows that and gave me the form saying that the decision can not be made till I send the proof, I’m so mentally tired it’s just gonna take longer i don’t understand How is this possible? I’m lost

sorry for the long text

See if you can print out your travel history from here https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home and submit that.

If you are employed, and was obviously in the US working when she said you were out of the country, have your employer write a statement on company letterhead attesting to this/send copies of a few pay stubs over that year showing you were in the US, as a piece of secondary evidence.

If you have  any medical records for that year where you sought treatment inside the US, send copies of that.

Include a cover letter pointing out the significant dates, highlighting them on the evidence you send.

It's possible it was just human error when she was going through whatever databases they use to confirm travel history.

Oh, also send a photocopy of your passport pages showing the travel stamp since you said you had one reflecting your reentry into the US.

I believe the IO made a mistake. They're humans too.

Going through thanks for all your help, I have one last question, I received a letter signed with another name not my IO asking for document of all trips from the last 5years! So now it’s not just 2016, I have documents for the last 4years but nothing from the first year I wasn’t working or studying back then; should I be worried!

It's normal to request travel history since becoming a LPR going back 5 years from the date you filed the N400.  The IO is just looking for a more complete history instead of just requesting 2016 evidence only.

The i94 should be able to clear up the years in question.

Hello mrock27!

I am from Brooklyn too, and I also filed in August 2018 ( August 6th)! My interview is scheduled on June 6, making it exactly 10 months since the PD. If you don’t mind, please share the rest of your application journey here so that we can keep each other informed because our timeline and location are so similar!

Hello, can I ask you if you had “estimate wait time” box on your case status page?

I applied August 22nd and still didn’t get interview date. Starting to be worried, since my “estimate wait time” was due last Thursday and now past due with the wording “We are taking longer than expected...”.

Once you're actually scheduled into your oath ceremony, it takes generally 7-10 business days to receive the letter in the mail.

Keep checking your online case status for updates.  What does your status say now?

Does it mean I'm not scheduled for the oath yet?

Hey guys,

I rented house in Long Island and also have house in Queens. When I filed my application I listed Queens as my address. I have a choice to list Queens or Long Island as my address since I spend even amount of time between both addresses. Per my application estimate time to complete is 6 months (originally showed 11 months when I filled in Nov, and it didn't' change).

Do you think by updating address processing will be faster? (Current Long Island is 7- 22.5 months) whereas Queens is (11 - 23 months).

It's my big day today.

I'm about to be naturalized, we're lining up now to check if all the information on our certificate are correct.

So excited for this journey to be over. Will apply for passport as well after this. :)

Can you share your experience? Got my oath ceremony Wednesday and scheduled a passport appointment for 1. Is that enough time? The selected post office is 8 minutes away.
