N-400 Filers @ New York City, Queens and Long Island Field Offices

I noticed the NYC N400 procesing timeline on the USCIS website moved from 14.5 months median to 13 months median... I guess that's at least movement in the right direction.  But still so frustrating to be waiting so long (July 2018 filer here with no movement since biometrics).

Thanks!  And yes I have been following your timeline with encouragement.  I think it's fair to say you have been processed more quickly than the NYC average from what I can tell on here, but hopefully the rest of us will be up soon.  Congratulations again on your successful process and thank you for your helpful posts on here.

Hi All,

 

I reside in Manhattan, NYC. I submitted my N400 online 4/17/19. My estimated case completion time is March 2020 (11 months) per my USCIS account - given the current processing times for my office are 13 to 23 months, I will be happy if it's done in 11 months! I am applying alone on the basis of 5 years of permanent residence.

I don't think so, once you submitted your application online and done your biometrics (assuming there is no FBI background issue), you will be in queue for interview.

The IO during my interview told me that, the scheduling of interview is systematically executed, meaning no human intervention. 

This makes sense because, I got my interview email and text notice 6am in the morning and no one works that early, and most of the VJ members got their notice on weekends (Saturday) and USCIS closed on weekends.

On the plus side, they seem REALLY excited for her to become a citizen!!   

 

Are all 3 for the same date, any notice of prior oath date(s) being descheduled in the online case status beforehand?

Really good. Took exactly 25 minutes, only asked for 2018 tax papers (and green card passport and DL) asked yes no questions (thought it was interesting he mixed them up) asked about spouse kids job and address. asked 6 civics questions 1 reading 1 writing and we were done. Really nice guy. Probably was quick because I didn't travel. They want you to pass, they're patient and speak slowly.
