Hello,

 

So I had my interview today as scheduled at the federal plaza, I passed the civics and English tests but I got the N-652 form saying that the decision couldn't be made. The IO was pretty thorough and asked a lot of questions. So I didn't understand why and then she replied that she still needed to review my application after she was done with all the interviews she had today. I'm so sad and frustrated that after more than a year waiting for the interview a decision on my case can't be made...sigh:(

Oh my gawd, that is a long wait. I was hopeful that I was going to get my citizenship around July 2019, which is the period of time that showed in my app. I guess I will have to patient.

I passed , it was easy and fast. Because I was later in the day the officer told me the supervisor was going to review the case and I will receive the notice for the oath by mail.

Any one with the same experience of having a late interview appointment can please share timing between the interview and the oath date?

It really depends on how busy they are. Usually, it's around 1-2 months. You can take a look at the chart and see the average time between interview and oath.

It does seem the somewhat depressing reality that 12 months from filing is the norm now, compared to the situation a couple of years ago.  To be honest at this point I would be happy if it were 12 months and didn't get even longer (I'm a July 2018 filer).

Hello all,

My n400 interview was scheduled 2 days ago, feb 12, at 230pm at federal plaza, reached at 130 to be told by the guard that the office closed at one due to the weather and all appts after 1pm are cancelled and they will reschedule in couple of weeks, now i have no idea what to do, how long it will take to reschedule, and will i get an update on the online account, if anyone had the same experiance or know whats next, please let me know

Received oath ceremony date after interview on Feb 12th at Federal Plaza. Heard the building closed at 1pm on that day due to snow so feel lucky to have 7:15am interview. 

 

In the interview I presented a very old traffic ticket that fined me $50. The IO was happy I presented the ticket but said she could not approve the case on that day. Basically if you present any ticket/order you must show the ticket/order is dismissed or you paid the fine. In another word they want to see the case/violation is "closed". The next day I received two Emails, "We recommended that your Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, Receipt Number xxxxxx, be approved. " and "We placed you in line for your oath ceremony". The following day (today) I received one Email "We scheduled your oath ceremony".
