Congrats! 

Funny enough, I also got a notification that they scheduled my interview, just a couple of hours after my last message yesterday. 

I always thought I would be happy and relieved, but I also booked expensive international flights just a couple of days ago, after a year of waiting and hearing nothing, and of course the notification comes two days later. Now I'm in for buying another $1,000+ flight just to come back for this interview... Wonderful.

That happened to me as well. I had planned on being in Barcelona and had to pay $2,000 for a flight to come back for the interview and leave that night. You're doing the right thing though because I know someone who tried to reschedule the interview and kept hitting stonewalls for about a year and a half until he managed to get another date.

So you did a round trip Barcelona NYC Barcelona in the same day?? And then you came back again for your oath?

I came from Barcelona the night before and left a few hours after the interview. I didn't get an oath notice and my file didn't move for months even though I was told everything is fine and stuff during the tens of InfoPass appts, Senators' inquiries, Ombudsman inquiry and after they got sick of me at 26 Federal Plaza, one officer decided to offer to look into my case and told me my file was in the wrong place since the interview (8 months) and she physically went to move it to the right place and gave me my oath notice that day.

What a nightmare... 
I guess that means I shouldn't take for granted that the oath process will go any smoother/faster, then. 😕

You should definitely hope for the best. I am guessing I was just unlucky. You how incompetent those people are.

Hey Everyone- So funny - we also got the interview notification today and an appointment for 11/14! Things are looking up! Sorry for complaining before and good luck to those still waiting. Sorry Matmat about the trip though.

Hello New York Based N-400 applicants - I was looking at the applicant data and did some analysis that you may or may not find useful.

 

Some facts to note

 

1. There are 41 applicants who have reported complete data from application date, fingerprints, interview and oath date.

 

Based on the 41 applicants the following information was calculated.

 

1. The maximum time from the interview date to when the applicant had their oath was 241 days

2. The minimum time from the interview date to when the applicant had their oath was 15 days

3. The average time from the interview date to when the applicants had their oath was 50 days

4. The standard deviation for this calculation was 43 days.

 

Out of the 41 data points the there were 3 (interview data to oath date) values 241, 140 and 140 which seemed like outliers. When I removed these from my calculations the calculated information changed somewhat. 

 

Based on the 38 applicants the following information was calculated.

 

1. The maximum time from the interview date to when the applicant had their oath was 91 days

2. The minimum time from the interview date to when the applicant had their oath was 15 days

3. The average time from the interview date to when the applicants had their oath was 40 days

4. The standard deviation for this calculation was 21 days.

 

In conclusion, I would say for the New York area after the interview date people should have their oaths in less than a month and half i.e. 45 days unless of-course there is something that goes sideways.

Some facts to note

 

1. There are 41 applicants who have reported complete data from application date, fingerprints, interview and oath date.

 

Based on the 41 applicants the following information was calculated.

 

1. The maximum time from the interview date to when the applicant had their oath was 241 days

2. The minimum time from the interview date to when the applicant had their oath was 15 days

3. The average time from the interview date to when the applicants had their oath was 50 days

4. The standard deviation for this calculation was 43 days.

 

Out of the 41 data points the there were 3 (interview data to oath date) values 241, 140 and 140 which seemed like outliers. When I removed these from my calculations the calculated information changed somewhat. 

 

Based on the 38 applicants the following information was calculated.

 

1. The maximum time from the interview date to when the applicant had their oath was 91 days

2. The minimum time from the interview date to when the applicant had their oath was 15 days

3. The average time from the interview date to when the applicants had their oath was 40 days

4. The standard deviation for this calculation was 21 days.

 

In conclusion, I would say for the New York area after the interview date people should have their oaths in less than a month and half i.e. 45 days unless of-course there is something that goes sideways.
